What all should I replace while replacing the water Pump on my 2000 ford contour

My water pump leaks, What all should I replace while getting it fixed. It is a 2000 Ford Contour with 108,000 miles. At 80,000 my late husband had timing belt and other belts changed & tuned up. I have new alternator, head gaskets, new battery and some censors replaced. I am seventy years old and would like to keep it in good running order. I have new tires and new headlight assembly just recently installed. Can I keep it going or should I give up and buy a new car.

That's a very good question...but I gather that this car has been taken care of and should be in very good shape and with economy the way it is..I see no reason to get a new car...My advice..Just get the water pump replaced and happy motoring....and don't let any mechanic try to sell you something that you don't need...I'm sure that you've heard the expression"If it ain't broke...don't fix it."..I hope this was heplful...PEACE.....

Fuel pump replaced 3 times. Now gasoline is pouring out underneath

The fuel pump is located inside the fuel tank. It's possible that the last time it was replaced, one of the fuel line connections was left loose. Have it checked out immediately!

How to replace water pump on 1998 ford contour?

remove the three bolts from the water pump pully....then remove the water pump...once the pump is out you will have to rotate the pump 180 degrees to get it out of the engine compartment....when you go to install the new one use a tiny bit of silocone to hold the rubber gasket in place so your not pulling your hair out...lol

Fuel leak where fuel line connects to fuel pump 1999 Ford Contour Appears to be the connector elbow at the fuel pump is cracked, where can I get a replacement.

The dealer most likely has a replacement part. You can also get brass connections at Lowes, Home Depot or even PepBoys.

95 ford contour idles low and shuts off when slowing or stopping. i also think i have a coolant leak. i am scared that a mechanic will screw me over because i don't know anything about cars. please help!

You're probably gonna have to get your timing belt replaced and while you're at it get your water pump replaced. Also tell them to check your cooling system for leaks.

Water pump replacment 1995 Ford Contour 2L

See repair guide on autozone.com

You need to remove timing belt and you will have a crazy time attaching the coolant hose to the water pump. Even if you move aside the power steering pump, it is likely coolant will still leak. But you may have better luck than me. So good luck!
