Get online
and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer
Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support).
Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating
system when requested. Download and install the Webcam drivers.
You can also try using ManyCam. It comes with drivers and software.
You can always download Manycam and install it. Go to
www.google.com and in the search box type: "download.cnet.com"
(without the quotes). Click on the link to go to the site. When the
site opens look down on the left and you will see a gray area that says Find
Software. Type "Manycam" (without the quotes) in the white
search area then hit the search mirror. When it brings back your results
look for the one that says ManyCam Virtual Webcam. Down load it and
install it. Make sure you remove the check box on any junky programs it
would like to install. You only want to install ManyCam, no additions
whatsoever during the install. ManyCam is totally FREE and easy to use,
and you will always know where your webcam software is.
You can also visit ManyCam's website at http://www.manycam.com for instructions on using it with skype and other applications.

Once you get the ManyCam installed and running you
can go to their website and read up on how to set it as the software to
use when you make video calls. In fact once you install it, your
software that came with the Acer Laptop might start working.
