It sounds like its in video mode to me if it actually did turn on. Press the
video button 1 -7 times until it cycles to your screen. (manually press the
video button on the front and just below your tv).

SOURCE: TV has audio sound and no picture

Trung,
There are many possibilities and most of them have to do with the "D" board, Sony p/n# A1346948A but testing is something generally beyond the scope of those less than technically equipped. You could order the whole board and put it in but that might be more than the simple fix you wanted or you wouldn't be here. So my best advice is to take it in to a qualified shop and have them estimate and repair it.. I see 3 or 4 of these sets in my shop a month, Sony XBR, and they're still very much worth the repair..

No sound, no picture

Hello sorry to hear that. From your description it sounds like your signal board may have been damaged by you plugging in your laptop to it. The signal board is the one with the tuner on it.

Audio out locations on back of tv

Hello
You want to connect your TV with an external audio device, and want to hear sound from it, I assuses, and posts this solution.
There is audio out sockets at the back side of the TV, very near to S-Video socket. Marked audio "L" & "R". These two sockets are audio out socketsfrom TV to connect any external audio amp. Just use an audio cable to connect these sockets, to 'Audio IN' of the amp socket. Switch ON both the devices. You can hear the audio of your TV programmes by the amp you conneccted with.
The picture of the AV cable is given here. Take red and White colourd connections to connect the TV with amp. Left the Yello coloured pins free. It is meant for video. 2_11_2012_3_19_43_pm.jpg

No sound on the tv but everything else works

Hello
Check whether 'mute' function is On. If it is ON, normally a embelm of speaker with a red cross over it will be displayed on the secreen with most of the TVs. You haven't given any details of your tV, brand name, model number etc:- so, i can oly give you general flault description. If mute is OFF, and still there is no sound output from your TV, check its speaker first. If speake is OK, check the set for it audio output, by connecting it with an external amp, by connecting the audio out rCA socet at the mack of the tv, to the audio 'in' of the amp. If there is audio out from the TV, you can heare audio through amp. If there is no audio from amp also, make sure that the sound fliter circuit inside your tV is faulty. If there is sound through amp, and no sound comes by the loudspeaker of the Tv, make sure that the audiou output section circuit inside your tV has the fault; provided speaker is good. OK.

I have a JVC HD 52g787, the sound works but no picture, The tv comes on, but the blue light just blinks, then cuts off, I have sound no picture

The problem is usually from the power or the Y sustain at the left or right side of the display when one of the large capacitor or heat sync on the capacitor even the flat power cable connection it to a main power board needs to be checked too, if the fuses on the board are blown it will need to be replaced

But after replacingthe fuses and the capacitors and still no solution, youwill need to replace the all board ..

You can also trouble shoot first before going to the board of the TV..

How to Troubleshoot an LCD With Sound But No Picture

It can be overwhelmingly frustrating when an electronic device as expensive as an LCD television set starts having problems. Luckily many of these problems are easily troubleshot. While being able to hear sound coming from your LCD television but seeing no picture may seem serious on the surface, fixing the problem involves checking a few different settings to make sure everything is set properly

Instructions

Check the video connection of any devices plugged into the LCD television. If you can hear sound but are seeing no picture while trying to use something like a DVD player or cable box, the problem is probably that a wire is loose somewhere. Check the yellow video cables running from the DVD player to the TV and make sure everything is plugged in firmly and where it should be. Also check the coaxial cable running from the cable box (or cable outlet) to the television and make sure that wire is also screwed in securely.

Check the image settings on your television and make sure everything is set properly. Certain settings like "Picture" or "Brightness," if set to one extreme, can make the picture appear completely black. This could cause you to simply hear television shows but not be able to see them. Reset all picture settings on the TV to their original factory default settings to see if that fixes the problem.

Try another channel. If you're watching TV and not getting a picture, the first thing you should do is check a variety of random channels to make sure it is a problem with your TV and not with your television signal. If it is a problem with the television signal it is the fault of the TV station or cable service provider and there isn't anything you can do yourself to fix it.

Try the DVD on another DVD player. If you're trying to play a DVD and can't see any images, make sure the disc isn't defective. Try it on another DVD player or a computer DVD drive and make sure the disc works in the first place.

Hope it helped ..

Lost picture at first and now it appears to have lost sound also

Hi,lost picture - Sometimes, the TV may display a black screen, now you need to check the cables whether they are properly plugged or not. Reconnecting all the cables can also work for this problem. Also, if the screen has a screen saver, check how it's set up. And, if nothing works for this issue, then there is a possibility that the lamp, rear projection, or the LCD panel may have been damaged. Now, you need to check your warranty card of your television and se your set comes under the manufacturer's warranty period. Call the customer service for technical problem and get replaced if a part demands it.

consigning no sound on your TV

You might need to do some troubleshooting tips first before calling arepair man to replace the sound IC inside the TV.

Check the volume setting. It might sound simple, but it's the best place to start. Make sure the television sound is not muted or turned all the way down using the remote or buttons on the front of the television. If the batteries are dead in the remote and the TV is muted or turned down, it might seem like the sound is broken.

Examine cables connected to the TV. Sometimes a loose connection can cause a loss of sound. Ensure all cables are tightly connected to the television and correctly inserted. Some peripherals are connected using a three-plug system and are usually labeled red, white (sometimes black) and yellow. Both the red and white leads are sound cables. Try removing all the cables (except the power) from the back of the television and turning it to TV mode, then listen for static or other sound.

Plug in headphones to the television with all cables re-attached. See if you can hear sound through the headphones. If you can, it may indicate that the TV's internal speakers are not working. If you can't hear anything through the headphones, it may be indicative of a larger problem.

Call a repairman. If at this point everything has failed to produce a sound, it's time to call in the professionals. A qualified technician should be able to fix the problem either at your home or in a workshop.
