SOURCE: Black Toner Problem
I had the same problem with my 4 month old Samsung. All of a sudden i had a missing black stripe down the left hand side after replacing the cyan toner with a refilled one!! So.....i uninstalled all the old drivers and downloaded and installed the latest ones.... replaced the cyan with a new genuine toner....removed the black toner, shook to redistribute and put it back.....checked the imaging unit for actual visual damage (there wasnt any!)..... then printed off 50 or so black n white documents. Eventually the 'stripe' dissapeared.
The colour toners were fine all the way through!
It worked for me, hope this helps!

Press Green Tick, Right, -> System Setup -> Right, Right, -> Print Quality, Right -> Replace Supplies.
Change from stop at out, to override at out.
It'll let you print, and you'll get loads more out of your toner before the pages start to fade.

SOURCE: SAMSUNG CLP 300N prints poorly after replacing toner cartridge
This is a fairly common problem, caused by a faulty black developer roller. I spoke to Samsung about mine, when it was 1 day out of the warranty and explained it started happening three weeks before (which was true). It had about 1,300 page count, when fuser kit should last 20,000. An engineer visited next day and replaced the roller, as well as a cautionary replacement of the paper pick-up rubber. Print is back working fine now. Chatting to engineer, the rollers have been modified now, so the fault must be causing concern. He said he's got another ten coming in stock tomorrow. Keep the previous toners, as they will still work once printer is fixed. I must say, Samsung support is excellent (the reason I bought from them!), so speak to them and so what they will do.

This is a very common problem with Samsung CLX-3160 and CLP-300 printers. The real problem is that the developer blades get dirty with the toner. Buying a new imaging unit will only fix the problem for a short period of time then it starts to get buildup on the developer blades.
You need to clean the developer blades. If there are streaking on any color, then also needs to be cleaned.
To clean the developer blades, look to this link. http://losingambition.com/clp300imagefix/ It describes how to clean them. It only takes a few minutes to do once you get the developers out of the unit. Just be careful when you clean the edge of the blades. You need to make sure that the residue is completely removed from the edge. Also be sure that when you reinstall the blade that the little foam does not get trapped below the blade. Otherwise when you print the side where the blade is not properly installed will have too much color.
If you are afraid of messing your printer up, then you need to buy a new imaging unit. They go around $100.
