SOURCE: Black Toner Problem

I had the same problem with my 4 month old Samsung. All of a sudden i had a missing black stripe down the left hand side after replacing the cyan toner with a refilled one!! So.....i uninstalled all the old drivers and downloaded and installed the latest ones.... replaced the cyan with a new genuine toner....removed the black toner, shook to redistribute and put it back.....checked the imaging unit for actual visual damage (there wasnt any!)..... then printed off 50 or so black n white documents. Eventually the 'stripe' dissapeared.

The colour toners were fine all the way through!

It worked for me, hope this helps!

SOURCE: Color toners are empty

Press Green Tick, Right, -> System Setup -> Right, Right, -> Print Quality, Right -> Replace Supplies. Change from stop at out, to override at out. It'll let you print, and you'll get loads more out of your toner before the pages start to fade.

SOURCE: SAMSUNG CLP 300N prints poorly after replacing toner cartridge

This is a fairly common problem, caused by a faulty black developer roller. I spoke to Samsung about mine, when it was 1 day out of the warranty and explained it started happening three weeks before (which was true). It had about 1,300 page count, when fuser kit should last 20,000. An engineer visited next day and replaced the roller, as well as a cautionary replacement of the paper pick-up rubber. Print is back working fine now. Chatting to engineer, the rollers have been modified now, so the fault must be causing concern. He said he's got another ten coming in stock tomorrow. Keep the previous toners, as they will still work once printer is fixed. I must say, Samsung support is excellent (the reason I bought from them!), so speak to them and so what they will do.

SOURCE: Samsung CLX-3160FN Vertical lines when printing black

This is a very common problem with Samsung CLX-3160 and CLP-300 printers. The real problem is that the developer blades get dirty with the toner. Buying a new imaging unit will only fix the problem for a short period of time then it starts to get buildup on the developer blades.

You need to clean the developer blades. If there are streaking on any color, then also needs to be cleaned.

To clean the developer blades, look to this link. http://losingambition.com/clp300imagefix/ It describes how to clean them. It only takes a few minutes to do once you get the developers out of the unit. Just be careful when you clean the edge of the blades. You need to make sure that the residue is completely removed from the edge. Also be sure that when you reinstall the blade that the little foam does not get trapped below the blade. Otherwise when you print the side where the blade is not properly installed will have too much color.

If you are afraid of messing your printer up, then you need to buy a new imaging unit. They go around $100.

What is the amount of magnetic Powder to be developed in the Fuser Section?

None. It is electrostatic attraction.
It varies from each type of laser printer.
Most printers will specify a total number of pages printed from a laser toner cartridge rather than give an actual amount of toner per page. Which I feel would be more likely to be an average value.
Due to the amount of toner being used per page varying on the number of actual pixels that are required - a black dot or a color dot. If a colour dot is required Three toner colors may be involved to get the color required. Where there is a white dot no toner is required.
It really depends on what image is being rendered onto the paper on each different page image print onto the paper.
Color photos use more toner as more of the page is color than when using black and white !

Had a paper jam and was printing a total black

Three suggestions for you
1- check your toner cartridge, might be empty, totaly black page will use enough toner for about 200 normal pages worth of toner,
2- did you use a cleaning solution on the drums? if you did then you could be facing a slippery drum, as in the toner will not adhere to the drum long enough for it to print. You are going to have to wait untill you print enough to wear this layer of cleaning solution off.
3- some printers and i think yours is one of them use a type of print film in the system. Not sure how or what this film does, but if it is not put back in place or it is fed into the unit wrong , then your printer will not print,

That's it for my ideas. Hope one of them works for you.

Replaced fuser and toner units now only prints black pages

Printing on a laser printer has 3 steps:

1. electro-statically charging the "drum", at various tiny "pixels",
to identify where the toner-powder should be placed.

2. feeding toner-powder onto the charged drum.

3. making the fuser produce heat to "bake" the ink onto the printer.

So, a failing unit or failing electronics would "charge" *ALL* of the drum,
thus putting black ink EVERYWHERE onto the page.

Take the printer to a qualified technician.

Hp 4600 LaserJet: magenta and black exhausted after 3000 copies, but most of them were only text. Something must be wrong, at least the configuration. Are there any possibilities to save consumer material?

This depends largely on how much toner on the page there was.

Toner use is estimated at a 5% coverage per page so full page photos take a massive amount but is offset by some pages just having a chapter subject heading.

You can set the printer to print in eccono-mode (information menu - print menumap to see where everything is).

Or you could use the printer driver in windows to print in draft mode.

Are you sure there have only been 3000 copies? You can always print off a configuration page which will give you the total number of pages printed each time you put in a new toner and work out "your " average usage or even the average cost per page.

Prints a mostly black page

Hi,
Check how the test page prints.
If it still prints bad.

Try reinstalling the printer driver.

It should be fine now.

Since the first two inches are fine, your printer looks to be fine.
The problem is only with the software.

Page not printing properly

It is going to be the toner catridge. It sounds like the wiper blade is not working.
