When I connect the RCA's to the amplifier and try to turn on the amp the protection light is turning on. I would like to request a schematic for this particular amp and if not can I find out how to get them. The amp is a Jensen KA 5 car amp 4 channel 100 watts 1 sub woofer 250 watts.
I'd be inclined to check to make sure there isn't a short circuit somewhere in the output lines. Maybe a wire is crushed against the car's body or bare wires touching or badly fitted RCA plugs. All of these things could activate the protection circuit. If you have a multimeter it would make life easier but don't forget your speakers will show up as 4 ohms so that's not a short. BMW
Should the amplifier go into protect mode, simply disconnect all RCA and speaker leads, while keeping +12 volt, power ground and remote leads connected.
1. Now turn the amplifier back on, and if the diagnostic LED lights, the amplifier has an internal fault.
2. If not, plug the RCA cables back, and reset the amplifier. If it goes into diagnostic now, the fault lies in the input, either with bad cables or source unit.
3. If the amplifier seems fine with RCA cables plugged in, connect the speakers, one at a time, and if one of the speakers or its wiring is faulty, it will activate the diagnostic
system.

I recently bought a Sansui 800Watt Amp at Hi Fi Corp but the Red protection light also keeps going on. This is my second Amp i actually exchanged the first one. Im thinking of asking for my money back now. I just want clear sound but im not getting that.
When I turn my car off, I look in the trunk and the amp lights are still on. Its a PDX
