check first in the user manual what kind of file format available in the dvd player that you bought. so you will know what kind of format that you can download to make compatible in the player using the usb stick.
I would suggest uninstalling all drivers and try running it as a generic drive and it should retain its blue ray playback abilities then i would suggest using a good program like power dvd 11
hi I think in detail you problem is that you play DVD movies, write DVDs, write CD etc. overall it was working fine. All on a sudden you could not plat DVD movies anymore. At the beginning you thought your DvD burner needs to be changed but you tried audio CD and mp3 just to check and they worked fine, then you tried data DVD, that worked perfectly okay as well. than you think there was certain that it's a software problem. So you tried all sort of things that you possibly could. you removed the hardware and added it back on. It didn't work. you uninstalled DVD codec and reinstall it. Still didn't work. you installed one software called regcure, still didn't work. you tried windows troubleshooter, didn't get much help.
if you done all these thing......than i think..
The DVD drive still could be bad. I would try to borrow an external DVD drive before you try anything else. If the system picks up the drive and plays though your software, then most likely the drive is bad. I had this happen with a desktop in reverse, (played DVD, not CD). I think there are 2 different lasers in a combo drive. It's definitely worth a shot. Is there anything in media player waiting to be written? Unless you have a third party codec properly installed in Windows Media Player, it will pretty much act the way you describe.

Don't play what? Games? Movies? If you mean movies, you can try Artisan DVD player. This will only play DVD movies if your laptop has a DVD-rom. If you only have a cd-rom, no software will help you play a DVD movie. You can get the software free here:
What do you mean wont work? Make sure your CD drive is a CD/DVD writer. On the Nero, it has an option to create a movie disc, something like that. Use that option.
if you bought the computer new or the DVD drive new , you whould have got a CD with it , most probably with something like WinDVD or something , if you have the specific CD with DVD software on it install it , as it will enable you to watch DVD's using Windows media player etc..
if you bought the computer second hand etc.. and or cant find the cd's a free solution is to download VLC media player (Download here) the only disadvantage about using this free solution is that you will have to play the DVD's through VLC you wont be able to use windows media player etc. to play DVD's as VLC does not require decoder software to play DVD's
otherwise you can purchase software such as WinDVD and this will enable you to play using your media player of choice.
