Wife threw remote at 47in 1080p lcd polarid tv. when i turn on there in nothing but cracks of light. is this fixable or am i better off getting a new tv?

You are better off buying another TV. Screen usualy costs more then a new TV. It is not an easy job. About 2hrs for a decent tech. Screen for a 37" is about $600-700. A sony....$1300 new sony 799. Best is to sell it for parts. You may get $50-100 for it. Sorry for the bad news. Best to put the WI away/or play nice :). Hit by Wi remote 60% of broken screens ,20% P'd off wife/lover, 10% bad football game,8% kids/bird/pet,2% installer error.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but the cost of replacement LCD panels are about 1200.00 dollars. If you would like me to try and locate a distributor for new replacements I will.
