Hi Christian, if your scanner was manufactured before February 2010 it may not be able to communicate directly with 123Scan2 so you wont be able to upgrade firmware with the program, but you will still be able to use it to create configuration sheets. These are the only two uses for 123Scan2.
To create a configuration sheet without "finding" the scanner click Create New Configuration then choose My scanner is NOT connected. Select the LS2208 and click on the blue firmware button to get into the configuration. When you have completed your configuration click the Print bar codes selection at the top of the window and when the file comes up be sure to click on the Bar code formatting menu and change the Bar code type to 1D One setting per barcode if it is not already there. Older scanners will not work with concatenated 1D barcodes where 123Scan2 puts more than one setting into a barcode.
Install ls2208 USB. Worked for 2 days then stopped emitting light. Computer continues to recognize, Device Manager is happy. Laser is very, very dim.
I have EXACTLY the same problem. Out of the box it worked great. Hooked up to USB and went to work. About 3 days later, the light is very very dim and will not scan. Unit is BRAND NEW!!

Whats up with this device, I have the same problem and haven't used it for no longer than a week.
Same problem. Purchased 10 from TigerDirect, sent 4 back. Purchased 2 from PCMall, 1 going back soon. These are brand new!!!!!!
SOME BARCODE CANT READ
LS2208 is not communicating or evident as available once "set up" of the scanner has occured. The scanner "appears" to accept the scan but will not display that in word pad or excel
What to do to get this fixed?
