Oil Type What type of oil does the Coleman 1850 take? I misplaced the owners manual.

For most applications I recommend straight 30 weight oil. If you are going to be using it much at below 30 degrees F. then I would use 10w-30. Hope this helps you. Thanks.

If it takes oil, you should use air compressor oil or, if you cannot find this product at your full service auto parts store, use SAE 30 non detergent.

Check for low oil level. If level is OK, check low oil level sensor. Disconnect the wire to test.

Oil Type. Use new good quality oil such as SC, SD, and
SE grades. The oil to be used depends upon the temperature
at which the engine is operated:

Did you check the dipstick, it may say on there, you could contact the manufacturer. If it is 4 stroke probably SAE 30. It it is 2 stroke (not likely) you need to mix gas and oil together.

Even though Powermate generators are discontinued they still have a website with owners manuals at www.powermate.com.

If it comes with a Briggs & Stratton 3.5 HP series 93400 engine, then the oil capacity is 20 fl oz (0.59 L). Hope this helps!
