Aeroccino does not heat

I have an Aeroccino, which does not heat the milk. It stops after a while, then the button blinks, but milk is still cold, and there is no froth...What is the problem?

I have found (in common with others on this site) that you need to leave the aerocinno for a good 30 secs so it can ready itself. Then the button seems to work. Now my problem is that it isn't heating the milk. I don't know what the solution is for that. I am going to try it again today and send it back if it doesnt work. Someone else in the forum said it could be because it is already hot (if you've already made a drink) - but I am making mine from cold. Plus it isn't stored on the base when it is plugged in. So it seems very unstable.

the problem is the milk warmer section keeps chilling the milk, even when the ring of light is red. I know it does chill when light is blue but it is also doing it when red and making the milk frothy and icy cold on the red button. Please help......

sounds like the heating element has burnt out in the Aeroccino (its just not heating rather than actually chilling) and if you open up the Aeroccino you should be able to see where the heating element is burnt out by the bubbles / gap in the circuit board and you may be able to patch the break to make it heat again. Hope this helps

Seems like a.common problem with this product. Another thread exists on it; google aeroccino + freezer. What i found is, just heating the milk yp another way; e.g., the microwave for 1 minute, then, ... use the COLD froth setting by holding button for about 2 or 3 seconds. You'll get a good froth ... because the cold setting goes by time and doesnt use the defective temperature detection.

Try descaling, if the element is covered with scale it wont produce enough heat and pressure.

The machine is Krups, and therefore should be covered with one year warranty. Call the number listed on the user manual, or find contact from websites below:

Coffee & Espresso Machines - Small Domestic Appliances - Krups

The descaling doesnt work at all. Problem is the device is no longer detecting a temperature change. Thing is, almost everybody has lots of ways to heat milk. (Granted its pretty easy to frith it too)

My aeroccino has stopped heating the milk. It starts and immediately cuts off. The other "propeller" that does not heat milk works just fine.

Depending on where you purchased your machine, I would contact either Nespresso or the store/website to talk to them about replacement. This doesn't sound like an easy at home fix.

Aeroccino frother won't turn back on after we get some froth and still more milk in container.. takes a long time to be able to activate again.. using Almond milk could be the problem any suggeest

My Nespresso Aeroccino often would not heat or froth multiple times after one use. I called Nespresso, they have excellent customer service, and was told to rise the inside (careful not to get the outside button or electric elements wet) of the Aeroccino with cold water a few times and to retry. Works like a charm!
The customer service is the best I have encountered in a long while, give them a call, it will make your day they are so pleasant and helpful!

What does a blue light mean on my aerochino? thanks.

Means you are not heating your milk, the frothing milk will be cold (for iced drinks) because you have held the button down longer than normal. Usually it takes 5 Seconds for the blue light to go on. try turning it on or pushing the button faster, It should turn on red, for heated and frothed milk.

My Nespresso milk frother did not come with instructions. Is there some way to froth but not heat the milk?

they make one that has the option of frothing milk hot or cold. Blue light is cold. Red light is hot. The red light will always heat the milk. To get to the blue light, you need to hit the button twice.( First will go to red)

Doesn't heat completely and light blinks

This is either a problem with the thermostat that lives just under the surface of the bottom of the aeroccino jug and is a technical problem that can only be resolved (replaced) by returning it to Nespresso OR it is related to a fine layer of burnt milk that builds over successive use that builds and holds the heat the element produces 'tricking' the thermostat into thinking the milk itself has heated to the desired temperature, not just the burnt layer. Clean the bottom of the jug, regularly with a non scratch scourer and use a mild detergent as well.
