Tv wont respond because device menu is changing through each device

The TV wont respond to remote controls and the Device menu is stuck changing through each device while staying on the original connection (Ant A). I've tried resetting even unplugging for a prolonged period of time.

I have the same problem. Just turned on the TV one morning and the device menu is stuck and scrolls through all the devices.

  • mojorising84 Oct 21, 2008

TV is changing through the device menu and it keeps going through all of the devices and it will not respond to the remote control, I have already changed the batteries and hit the reset button several times but no luck. The TV will only turn on and off with the button on the front control panel. It will not let me change channels or adjust the volume.

Same problem. Guess I'll have to call in for repair. Hope it doesn't cost a fortune.

  • bobs1221 Oct 28, 2008

I have the same issue and it started about two weeks ago. I have tried multiple times with no luck. Sound and power are fine but the device menu is scrolling through all icons just going crazy. I did all of the same things that you did without any luck. Did any of you find out via a technician what this issue was? Just curious.

    Thanks!

Exact same problem. Just started and no response from remote. Looking forward to any solutions or knowledge of any defective part(s) that is causing the problem.

  • Anonymous Dec 04, 2008

Same exact problem. No solutions yet?  Been on hold with Pauls TV for 40 minutes.

  • rkat007 Dec 19, 2008

I too have the Mitsubishi 55511 and the Device Selection Menu is jumping through the selections and the menu will not stay displayed. It disappears as soon as it displays and I have to keep hitting the Device Button to bring it back up to make a quick selection. I also couldn't access HDTV at all.

Now, as of last night, the remote won't even work and I can't control my television at all.

I had a similar problem: my WS-55511 would not respond to the remote and the front control buttons (with the exception of Power) cycled through the Device Menu. I solved this problem by disconnecting the front panel. Here's how to do it: 0. Unplug the TV
1. Remove the speaker grill from the front by pulling forward: there are no screws. 2. Disconnect the two cables that are exposed after the grill is removed. 3. Plug the TV back in, wait for 5 minutes to reset. 4. Try using the remote.  Hope this helps!

NEED TO PROGRAM MY RCA TV WITH A HUGHES HRMC-13 REMOTE

Hello
Codes for RCA tv with Hughes remote are:

160 161 156 165 065 070 004 023 024
056 074 081 152 167 145
Code Entry

Use the REMOTE pane under the System Setup menu tab to program your

HRMC-11, HRMC-12, or HRMC-13 remote control to operate your TV, VCR,

SAT, AUX device, or DVD (HRMC-11 and HRMC-12 only). The AUX menu

button can be used to control a CATV box or other type of device. Use the menu

buttons to choose the desired type of device and display a brand name menu list
from which you can select the manufacturer of your device.

Code scanning

To use the Code Scanning method:

1. Repeatedly tap the top part of the CHANNEL (CH) button.

2. Continue to step through the codes until the component turns off, indicating

you have found the correct component code. If you accidentally pass a code

that responds or realize you may not have been aiming the remote control at

the component, tap the lower part of the CHANNEL (CH) button to step

backward through the codes.

3. Press the remote control POWER button to verify the proper code by

turning the device on and off.
4. Press the device button (in this example, TV) again to lock in the code.

Device menu stuck

This sounds like the 'Other' connection jack has a bad internal switch. This switch in the connector tells the TV there is a device plugged into the external connections. A technician should be able to disable the 'Other' jack so it cannot be used. Try a service shop or even a technician friend for help.

My remote wont operate my sony TV volume

Here you go. This will work with most all universal remote controls. If you don't have the code do the following:
Automatic Programming
With automatic programming, the remote control tests all the codes available on the Code List and assigns the correct code for the selected device. Although this method can be more time-consuming, it eliminates the need to look up codes and enter them manually.

1. Turn off the device with which you want to use the remote control.

2. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control
(TV, VCR, SAT, DVD, CAB or AUD) until POWER INDICATOR illuminates. It should take a couple of seconds for the light to remain solid. The remote control is in programming mode.

3. Press and release power button. The POWER INDICATOR flashes once and stays on indicating the unit is in Power Scan mode.

4. Press CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down repeatedly until the device turns on.

5. When the device turns on, press OK to store the code.

Note:
• To exit without storing the code, press BACK.
• T he unit will search for the next code or the previous code if you press
CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down after the device turns on. (go slow you need to press OK when the TV turns on) if you mess up turn TV off and start over.
6. Press any other button. If the device responds, the remote control has been programmed. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2-5.
