This happened to me. The cause was the battery did not fit into the case, This led to poor connection of the battery. After I fixed the loose battery , it worked perfectly till today.
Check the plastic insert that fits onto the top of the docking station. Take it all the way off, and then carefully reseat it onto the station. Make sure this plastic insert is fully seated onto the docking station. If it's loose at all, you are likely to have the red-blinking light which indicates the camera is not charging properly.
Had the same problem, and like mahav said, it was an issue with how my battery was arranged in the camera itself. Adjust the battery, and hopefullyy that will work.
Try taking out the memory card. I had the same problem, but for some reason I had the memory card out and the green lights returned and my camera charges correctly now
I had the same problem. I did need to take the clear plastic insert off but then I had to put a rubber band around the dock and camera (more on the left of the camera and dock) to hold it evenly on there since the camera was leaning on the right and wasn't charging for me. Now it charges as soon as I put it on there with the rubber band with no blinking red light anymore! Hope this helps!
Try using canned air to blow out connections on camera and dock
this seemed to work for my Z760 camera

I have the EXACT same problem as above. I bought a new battery and that doesn't seem to have fixed the problem!
I attempted the suggestions, but the dock is still flashing red after a few seconds from start of the charging process. This hasn't happened before. Please advice.
I've had my camera for almost 4 years and, until recently, never had a problem charging it.
Once I place it on the dock, the red light almost immediately starts flashing. I used to be able to take it off, unplug it and set it up again and it worked. Now, I nothing works. I've tried all of the solutions on here and still nothing.
I am so frustrated! What do I do?!?!
Mine has been doing this too- green light, then blinking red and not charging. I took someone's advice on here and took the clear plastic housing off and put it back on and that seemed to do the trick.
I have the same problem. I can't fully charge the batteries, either. Sometimes it works if I can get it connected quickly enough to the EasyShare software and will charge for a few minutes before it starts blinking red again.
