Mitsubishi WS-55511 Problem TV out - Getting only continously blinking green light on the front-panel

Oct 1, 2008 - Tried to turn-on our WS-55511 and all we get is a continously blinking green light on the front-panel. Tried the front panel reset (with the paper clip) but still no go.
I checked the manual and unplugged for days then pluged-in and again a continous blinking green front-panel light. I again tried the front panel reset (with the paper clip) but still no go.
Can anyone recommend a next step? I'm frustrated with Mitsubishi - thier web site is absolutely no help! - purchased 08/30/03 new - this TV has got to be able to last more than 5 years. Send comments to: [email protected] Thank you!

I unplugged my ws-55511 to clean behind it, when I plugged it back in I got the fast blinking green light. It will not turn on by the front button or by the remote. I reset it with a pin (on front panel) the blinking stops while I hold the reset but starts again as soon as I let the reset go. I unplugged it and disconnected everything from the TV for 24 hours and when I plugged it back in I am still getting the fast blinking green light. Doing a search on the internet this seems to be happening to everyone. It almost seems like it was programed to go out after so many hours of use!!!!

I had the same problem with the blinking light on the front of the TV and it would not power up. I read all the problems everyone was having and thought I was going to face a huge repair bill. The service guy came out, pulled off the front panel where the speakers are and disconnected the circuit for the front display panel. 3 1/2 minutes in my house, $90 service call. Apparently, when you give the TV too many commands at once, it's safety feature is to"shut down and lock up". He mentioned also that sometimes when these sets get to be about 4-5 years old, the wires in front can "leak" causing a shortage and then locking up the TV. I keep the circuit unplugged and operate the TV solely by the remote. Give it a try, what can it hurt!! Hope this helps.

I had the capacitors changed out and slightly upgraded in size. They are located inside the DM board. Fixed!

After researching online, my TV problem seems pretty common. TV - Mitsubishi 1080 series WS 55511. Green blinking light blinks for 3 seconds, then goes out and TV never turns on, but I hear a slight...

The green light is known as "The blinking green light of death". This refers to the green LED on the front panel of the TV that normally blinks when turned on after a power failure or when unplugged: the green light is supposed to flash for about 1 minute while both microprocessors boot up: If it won't stop blinking it means that they aren't communicating w/each other. Unfortunately, it's common in Mitsubishi & other RP TV's. Getting this fixed by a professional is around $6-700 with labor, parts, etc. It's really not worth it in my opinion. I would go out and buy an LCD or an LED TV.

Green light blinks and cant turn tv on

If this is a WS-55511, it is probably caused by a DM module. Unfortunately, it is not available nor does Mitsubishi offer a rebuild option. Mitsubishi's phone# 1-800-332-2119.
Give them a call and you never know what they may offer you.
Hope this helps,

Green light on front rapidly blinks after power outage. No picture, or can't turn on

This unit, when first plugged in or after power interuption takes 70 to 90 seconds for the digital module to boot up. During the time the LED blinks green and the set will not respond to anything. After the appropriate amount of time the blinking should stop and the set should operate normally. If the blinking never stops then you have to have the Digital Module repaired.

Will not power on. Please Help!!

Error code 12 means normal operation. On these models we have found that a switch is sticking on the control panel not allowing the set to turn on. Disconnect the control panel. You will be able to use the remote on it. To find the plugs for the control panel: Remove the speaker grill and front panel, then follow the wire to the connection. Remember to unplug the set before putting your hands inside of it. Tell me how it went. Lead Tech
