Go to the company's web page: http://www.omronhealthcare.com/product/manuals.asp The Support tab has a link to Instruction Manuals. Then use the tab for Fitness Diagnostics to find the manual for your product. It's downloadable, so you won't lose it again!

ON THE BACK OF THE UNIT THERE'S A ARROW AND A HOLE NEXT TO IT. INSERT A SMALL PIN OR SCREWDRIVER IN HOLE TO RESET.

Good afternoon, My 4202 pedometer does not show accurate number of steps even when I actually count the step while walking. Some day it's fine, but most days it's way lower that what it should show.

well, all your steps are not measured exactly the same... from hour to hour.. they are different. and hen even more from days to day they are different. your mood is different thus having an effect on your strides. so unfortunately any step machine can only guesstimate your steps. I suggest reviewing the setup you used to measure each step.. and go thru that again... you might need to re-enter the your step size. I really hope that helps.

When does the clearview pedometer reset

I'm responding 'cuz my Clearview pedometer remains something of a mystery to me, too. So I apologize, right off, about the length and confusion in this procedure. Maybe someone will add a simpler, comprehensive list of commands.
W/o access to a user manual, here is what I've learned about it. Barbara, I didn't think it reset itself... maybe you can explain. I did find that when I hit the "reset" button on the back (to the left of the belt clip), it resets the Step (number taken), Mile (distance traveled), and Kcal (calories burned) to zero. One click for all-three together.
More SETTING steps: The menu is a vertical column to the right of the digital display (from top to bottom: Step, inch, LB, Mile, Kcal). As you scan down the menu, look for the teeny > arrow pointing at one of the functions. Normally the arrow skips from Step, to Mile, to Kcal. If you've been using it, and there are numbers in these fields, you can manually reset these to zero by pressing the "reset" button. Those 3 fields should now register "0" when you scan through the modes as before. I believe this does not reset your stride or weight settings.
These other 2 modes: inch (length of YOUR step), and LB (YOUR weight = this helps in calculating your calorie consumption... I think) were a bit tricky to reset to MY body. I managed to select those modes and enter my own data somewhat haphazardly, by simultaneously pressing the two buttons on the right (Mode, and Set); and then (sometimes, but not necessarily?) pressing the Set button alone. Either way, if you're lucky (!) you'll eventually get a blinking number and the arrow > indicating which field you're in: inch, or LB.
If it is the inch field, it will read 0, or something like 30 (your stride in inches). If you want to change it, press the SET button repeatedly (lower/right) to INCREASE the number in the field. Apparently you can't lower the number directly - if you instinctively press the upper/right button (MODE), it just closes the setting function.
So in order to set to the length of YOUR step, keep pressing (or you can hold it down) until you reach your stride length... it continues up to 120 inches (!!) before restarting at zero. I haven't figured out why it opens in inch, or in LB, but by randomly pressing both rt-hand buttons, I can eventually get into each of the two fields. The weight settings in LB also adjust only upward by pressing the SET button (that is, once you get the field to open). You may have to go to 150# (its max. setting) before you can begin at zero again. Last weird note: When I can't seem to get into these fields at all, I have had some success by pressing and HOLDING the SET button until the reading (usually 0, by then) blinks off and then on, once. Then you can proceed with the other steps.

I don't know what the kcal means?

KCal is short for Kilocalorie or Kilogram Calorie.

One KCal equals one standard food Calorie like the kind you see on food labels.

On your pedometer, this is probably an indication of how much energy you have burned off during your workout.

Good luck.

I have just bought a Tesco OneBody pedometer and cannot fathom out how to reset it after each use. The instructions are worse than useless - it took me ages to set the time and I'm not normally considered...

The instructions are totally useless: however, I think I've worked it out.
1. Start by setting the time: press the mode button and cycle through until you reach the time display. Press and hold the Set button until the time flashes. Press the adjust button to add one hour. Press set again to get the minutes to flash. Press the adjust button to add a minute. When the correct time has been set press Set.
2. Press the mode button to cycle through to Steps count (this will be a single number, probably fairly low if you've never tried to use it before). Press and hold the set button until the display changes and flashes for KG and CM. Press the adjust button (ADJ) to add a KG until you reach your correct weight. Now press the set button and the CM will flash. This is the measurement of your standard step, not how tall you are. Measure your step (the one you will take when either jogging or walking depending on what you want to use the pedometer for). This measure is from your back foot toe- to your front foot heel. Now add this number into the CM column by pressing the ADJ button once to add a centimetre. Press set again when you have added the correct number.
3. Finally you need to reset the pedometer: go into KCAL mode and press and hold the ADJ button: this will reset the steps, KM and KCAL counts to zero: Hey presto you are ready to go.
Hope that helps :-)

My Omron Walking Style 1 pedometer is not recording all steps.

OK I couldn't find the owners manual for the original posters unit however I did write to the manufacturer so I will keep you updated on that. So basic pedometer trouble shooting. If you replaced the batteries you have to reset all your settings including your stride length. make sure the unit is not hanging off where you click it as irregualr movements will mess up the accuracy. also ensure the unit is upright at all times. Also make sure you are not shuffling or wearing sandals as that will mess up the stride count as well Here is the manual for the HJ-112 model http://www.omronhealthcare.com/img/shop/hj-112---2005-112inst-rev-d.pdfll.

I am having problems with my Pedometer. What should I do?

Review the following questions for common pedometer troubleshooting: a) Where are you wearing the pedometer? Make sure you are wearing your pedometer correctly by following these steps: * Clip your pedometer to your waistband or belt, directly above your knee. * Be sure your pedometer is perpendicular to the ground, not angled or dangling from your clothing. * Do not wear the pedometer on your shoe, sock, pocket or wrist. It will not provide an accurate reading. * Test the pedometer for accuracy by setting the step counter to zero and walking 50 steps. Check the display. If the reading is between 45-55, your step counter is functioning properly. If it reads more or less, reposition the counter on your waist and check again. * Your pedometer may give inaccurate results if you have had recent surgery or knee, leg, or foot problems. You may be favoring a leg or foot while walking. b)My pedometer has a clicking or loose part sound? Is it broken? No, a clicking or loose part sound is not an indicator of a broken pedometer. Every pedometer has an arm or pendulum inside of it. This is what counts the steps. The clicking noise that can be heard when the pedometer is shaken (or when you are walking) is the pendulum. c)The reset button will not work. The pendulum inside the pedometer is linked to the step counting device. The pendulum may become immobile from time to time, and this can prevent the reset button on the step counter from doing its job. If pressing the reset button a few times does not clear the display, here is what you can do to release the pendulum: * Give the pedometer a few gentle shakes while keeping the reset button held down. This un-sticks the pendulum. * Release the button. If the display has not cleared, press and release the button one more time. * If the display does not reset after trying this once or twice, call Customer Service.
