The telly my children have is saying screen off and the light is going only to stand by then screen off. how do i get bthe screen to come on again?

There is a powerbutton on my sony TV - no amount of pressing the remote will activate the telly unless I forstpop the power button on the top. Once it has been initiated teh remotes work fine.

ALSO check the remote is working by activating a digital camera - can even be a smartphone - point the remote at the lens and you should see a flashing light on the camera screen, if not, check the batteries etc (try another remote for something you know is working to compare the result)

If all that fails, it may well be the TV that's broken.

hi you see alot of these types of tellys with your problem or similar problem and they all lead to the same fault i dont think the problem will be the optic filter the problem is more likely going to be the convergence ic it is best to replace both of them as replacing one usually means youll come across problems with the other sooner or later getting these replaced will put your telly back how it was and youll find that you wont have this problem again for a good while.
Most tv repair shops will have ample experiance in this fault and if you ask them they will tell you the same as i have.
Now if you have the equipment to do this repair yourself then you will need to get the schematics for your telly and any part numbers youll need.
It is also worth checking any resistors as well as often these will go when the convergence ic go this will need testing and replace any as needed.
If you are going to get someone else to do the repair then the cheapest way is for you to take the telly to them as you will get charged for call out and for transporting your telly so to avoid this unecessary charge take it their yourself.

are you using the game through a scart lead or a patch lead or using the coloured lead if using scart lead press 0 or av on the controll untill it picks the signal up if you are using patch lead then you need to have it switched on then get the telly to do the auto scan this should pick it up if u yousing the coloured leads again plug it in and press the av button on controll untill it picks up the signal hope this is some help to you if this still dont work then you cant use it on that telly as it dont cover the frequency of the game this would be the only reason you cant use it unless the lead is damage

Blowing your fuse means you have a short circuit my friend. Even you replaced the fuse again and again it will do the same thing unless you isolated the problem. Blewing your fuse happened because it is a guard to avoid further damaged to you and your property. If you haven't a fuse fire will occured in the blink of an eye (thanks for the fuse) This is quit technical so I've advice you to look for a qualified electrician to isolate the cause of short circuit.

hi, if the ps3 was working fine on the other tv and you have not dropped it or anything like that then this would point towards their being a fault with the lead of the connection in the back of the telly.

what you should do is unplug it all again and refit all the leads in the back of the ps3 making sure they are pushed in far enough then plug the lead into the back of the telly making sure you push it in far enough, then switch the telly on and then switch the ps3 on if the telly dont change to the correct channel as soon as the ps3 comes on then you need to get the telly control and put the tv on the correct channel.

now depending on how many inputs the telly has would depend on how many times you press the button on the control, the button you need to press is going to be on of the following its either av, input,source,ext,aux, or a picture of a rectangle with an arrow running from left to right, now once you have found this button make sure your ps3 is on with a game in then press the button on the tv remote then wait couple of seconds it may say something like av1 on the telly if this dont show the ps3 then press it again it should then go to av2 and keep going until you see the game on the ps3 you need to keep going until your telly is on the right input channel.
once you have done this your ps3 should be working again.

Hi, try switching the ps3 off then remove the lead from back of ps3 and also remove from the telly refit these then try again if you are still having problems you need to find the av button on your telly remote or source button depending on your telly hopefully this should solve your problem.
If not then the chances are their is a fault with the cable that runs from the ps3 to the telly this will then need replacing if its still under warranty take it back to where you brought it from and they will replace this for you.

Are saying you can't read the screen at night, or is it hard to read the screen anytime?

If you tap the power key, you should here a beep and the screen should get brighter. If you hear the beep and there is no light, then the internal light has failed.

If you can't read the screen in normal light conditions try viewing it under a bright light at various angles. You may notice that the screen is just barely visible. If this is the case you may be able to fix the problem by adjusting the contrast. Try tapping bthe power key and then tap the right or left side of the track pad. It may take several taps to see the results. If left or right doesn't work, try up or down.

I read in the manual for the Sony KDF 50E3000 that you should use warm soapy water on a clean cloth if you aren't able to remove it with a dry cloth. I find that the microfiber cloths work best.
