Doesn't anyone have a manual for the planetarium??

well, after looking awhile. It must be buried somewhere. HOWEVER, you could possibly buy it on the Goodwill site. If it is still available. You would have to buy another device and get the instruction manual with it! Sounds like gold eh? Well, it all costs just 5 bucks +2 buck admin fee. So if you want that here is the link.

Can you describe how to use RA and DEC to find objects. I can find the planets ect....

Once the scope is polar aligned move it to a named star that you can identify. Look up the RA and DEC for that NAMED star in any planetarium phone APP or a laptop running any planetarium software like the free software available at www.stellarium.org

Adjust the circles to MATCH the RA and DEC in the planetarium software, and lock them down.

Now you can use them to find other objects of known RA and DEC.

I can see clearly in the day time ,cant see at nite want to be able to see the stars

You don't need a telescope to see the stars--- just look up.

Stars always look like -- just stars-- in any telescope. They are too far away to see a disk.

However you can see other objects if you point the telescope directly at them. For example Jupiter is up in the Southwest after dark-- and Saturn comes up about 11PM or so.

There are also 110 Messier objects that you can see.

I recently acquired a Konustart 700 telescope but I need the instruction manual and star maps to start learning how to use it. Can you help? Mike Garabedian

You will not find a manual for this small telescope. Even if you did it only contains assembly instructions. It will NOT teach you how to be an amateur astronomer.

Here is a free star chart you can download every month:

Buy these two books-- Turn Left at Orion and Nightwatch.

Watch these video:

Simple materials only

A telescope manual WILL NOT teach you how to use the scope, how to focus, what eyepiece to use, or HOW to find objects in the night sky.

Join this Astronomy forum:
http://www.astronomyforum.net/ look around the discussions and introduce yourself.

Buy these two books:

"Turn Left at Orion"

and

"Nightwatch"

Install the free planetarium software Stellarium on your computer and use it to learn the night sky:

This is just a free planetarium software. No big deal. They are available for FREE on the internet.

Download the free planetarium software called Stellarium. Download the MAC version. Install it on your computer and put in your location.

It will show you the sky for any time or date. Also download the free monthly star chart at www.skymaps.com

The back page tells you what is visible in the sky.
