The cpu is very cheaply made.For roughly $47 for the cpu don't expect much.You don't have much cache if this is the chip you have.To run programs faster it would need more.Some software needs more cpu power to run better and more cache to run faster.

Contact Dell directly, you might also want to check the price of a new computer, this may work out cheaper in the long run.

If you know how to remove the CMOS battery on the motherboard of your laptop this will solve your problem. The BIOS password is stored in CMOS memory that is maintained while the PC is powered off by a small battery, which is attached to the motherboard.
Removing the battery will reset the CMOS information/data including the password.
Of course after you have done this you have to re-enter the correct CMOS info in order for your laptop to function properly.

acer usa do an exchange mother board program but its cheaper to buy another machine,sorry to be the bearer of bad news,a similar motherboard was going to cost me $380 USD and with New Zealand Exchange rate it was going to be cheaper to upgrade to a new machine.
