The convergence for blue is off, i tried the manual adjust and that didnt work, so i pulled the convergence board, and notice the resistor RK54 is a brownish color, doesnt look like it exploded but its not blue anymore. The tv was hardly used, maybe 500 hours, Since new. It was made in 2001, but it was a gift so might as well try to fix it. My question is, should i replace the discolored resistor to see if it fixes it. The Blue on the convergence adjustments works horizontally just not vertically.

Hello, I have the exact same issue with my R49W36, I replaced the convergence chips but there are also two 1 ohm resistors with the same color pattern as yours that are bad. I have looked all over and cannot find a 1 ohm resistor anywhere. Where did you find it?
SOURCE: Resistor ohm values??????
RK42 = 2.2 , RK46 = 1.5 , RK58 = 3.3 , RK52 = 1.8 , RK 50 = 2.2 , RK54 = 1.5

It's recommended to replace all the defective parts first because if you only replace the defective resistor, it might burnt again if the convergence IC is shorted internally. I would also suggest to measure the other low value resistors with multimeter.

You have all the resistor are correct! Yes I can Tell you exactly what you need to know and How to Save settings after you adjust convergence, I have to pull out my manual on your hand unit Be right back. first you need to go to front of TV remove front bottom panel to where you can see the front of chassis on the board you replaced ICs there is a small blue contact button with TV on press and hold for 5secs Convergence Pattern should appear! You will need your hand unit to begin to adjust convergences.
