HP W2007 + Xbox 360 = Constant Sleep Mode

I have my XBOX 360 hooked up to my HP W2007 monitor. When I power on the xbox the monitor comes out of sleep mode for a few seconds then goes back into sleep mode. I can't get the monitor menu up or anything in the short amount of time (menu doesn't come up if in sleep mode I am assuming). Xbox 360 + VGA cable works flawlessly on other monitors, just not mine.

The monitor is bad
if it will not power on,
or show NOSIG< with XBOX on then turned off the monitor must show NOSIG>
why not test the monitor on any pc made even laptops VGA jacks works, so that works, its not the monitor.
and bad xbox video caused. but is not it. as you said.
the menu needs sync lines active. to pops the OSD button menu.
so the monitor is bad.

or the cable.

This HP product contains mercury in the fluorescent lamp
in the display LCD that might
require special handling at
end-of-life:

that means CCFL died, also all do, soon.
(as short as 2 years, full time , they die. 20k hours)
out of your service manual it shows.
HP W2007 + Xbox 360 = Constant Sleep Mode - ccfl-wcj1avqu0msqxnqr1cdquwfl-1-0.jpg what any running pc connected the OSD menu most work
not in sleep mode.
if there is sinc, H/V pins active

No, no virus. This is usually a power supply problem. I see this thing all the time with LCDs. If you montior is less than 3 years old Dell should replace it for you.

Just go to this link:

https://support.dell.com/support/supportrequests/create.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

Type in your PC's service tag and click send them an email or do what I do and use the online chat feature. It is quick and easy. You'll need to give the very log serial number off of the back of the monitor (usually begins with the letters MX, CN, or MC).

However, if it is older than 3 years you may be stuck buying a new display. Luckily there are some great deals now on new LCDs....let me know how it goes.

SOURCE: monitor going right to sleep mode on start up

Sounds like a bad graphics card. Try using monitor wit another computer and see if the problem still exists. This rules out the display.

Can i connect my xbox 360 using Dvi D to Hdmi in the dvi slot and also my tower to the vga slot on my eMachines E19T6W

I am not an xbox person, but as far as hooking it up, it should work as long as the other device is NOT powered up. That being said you will still have to provide audio from the xbox another way as dvi only carries a video signal, unlike the hdmi which carries both audio and video.

How should I hook up my xbox to the back of the television using the red, white, and yellow wires? It is hooked up but I am not getting any audio. Thank you.

First make sure your video cable is set to TV not HDTV

Then plug the 3 RCA cables into the color coded slots on the TV. Make sure you aren't using the red cable from the component RGB but are using the red cable for sound (next to the white one).

Then, if you still have no picture, start the console using the controllers Xbox button and hold "Y" and "RT" until the console restarts. this will reset the video settings on the 360 to default.

Follow this guide if you get confused:
http://support.xbox.com/en-us/pages/xbox-360/how-to/audio-video-devices/connect-xbox-360-console-tv.aspx

and for the video reset about halfway down the page:

How to connect Xbox 360 to modem

Hi Nacee..
Hope your r good there!

Anyways...First thing you should do is turn off your computer, cable or DSL modem and XBOX 360. Then you should hook an Ethernet cable from the cable modem to the Ethernet port on the back of your XBOX 360. Then power up your cable mode and then power up your XBOX 360.

Can you use an xbox arcade on flatron LG L1810T? If so which setting does it have to be on as the tv is not recognising the xbox at all

HI,
Your LG LCD monitor has a white DVI connector for connecting the signal cable.

You would reqire either an HDMI to DVI(male connector cable for the xbox) so that you can hook the hdmi cable to the xbox and other end to your monitor.
The cable would look something like this

Xbox 360 won't turn on

I had this problem. Make sure the pins in the USB ports (2 on the front and 1 on the back of the console) aren't bent and there's nothing obstructing them. I unbent some of the metal inside these ports, and voila! I have a working xbox.

Where do you plug it in?

Well you need a membership, which I believe they give you a free month. So if you mean if it is hooked up into, no. But you need to enter information with a card.

The Xbox shoudl come with an ethernet cable to attack to your wireless modem and you can get your Xbox Live Connection from there.

I don't know about Dial Up Connection though, becasue I don't have that. But maybe you can attach the Ethernet to the back of your computer (not the monitor). And turn on the computer and connect.
