It occasionally will make a whirring noise then display that the beans are empty - they're not. Some times I can turn it off and on to clear the problem, some times removing the brew unit fixes it. Some times I have to turn it off and sit overnight. There seems to be no pattern as to when it does it. Any ideas?

Push the coffe brew button again. It should take right off and grind again.

Caffeind...the problem is likely still some bean remnants stuck in a switch which is causing the problem. Get some newspaper and open it up on a flat surface. Invert the grinder and give it a couple of thumps on the newspaper. The chips should loosen up and fix it. Remember, beans are both sharp in shape and oily in makeup...perfect for getting stuck.

The rivets in the back of the Jura Capresso units are actually oval security screws. The bit that removes these screws are made of a very hard metal and cost me over $50.00 two years ago. Also many people who attempt there own repairs tear off the little plastic tabs that keep everything together nice and tight. We repair Jura Capresso Krups Bosh etc. www.hotncold.com

It is possible that the grinds chute is blocked, remove the brew unit and check the chute from the grinder chamber, make sure that it is not blocked with coffee grounds.
