The ice maker is over filling the ice tray. The wiring harness is hanging down, I don't know where it attaches and I suspect this is what is causing the ice maker to malfunction causing the ice to stick together in a row when it is dispensed into the tray. I cannot find a diagram

In most refrigerators - there is usually a small opening in the ice makers that regulate the water flow into the trays. With a small flat screwdriver --- turn the visible slot to the right to reduce the water flow time.

The broken wires at the ice maker can cause that problem. The temperature sensor and rubbery gadget holding it in place often fall out of place when the drooping wires snag on the ice scoop or whatever. The sensor assembly is held in place by a wimpy plastic clip that breaks easily. After fixing this problem several times, I finally made a metal bracket from aluminum angle, drilled and tapped 4-40 holes in it, and drilled the plastic icemaker to mount it more permanently. I added a wire tie to hold the temperature sensor wire up and away from possible snag sources. The sensor wire and wire tie are not shown in the photo below, but if you have the tools to solder the wires and fabricate a bracket it helps a lot. It is easy to get the ice maker out, once you discover how to remove the drawer from the slides (two plastic clips at the rear of the slides).
Pull the front cover off, take out the two screws, and unplug the wire connector and it drops right out.

Bracket installed. The sensor is not shown in this photo, but the wire comes out the right side and crosses in front of the metal bracket. The wire tie holds it to the bracket near the top center (hole not shown).

Broken wires at the ice maker can cause that problem. It could be another temperature sensor as well of course. Check the ice maker temperature sensor for a cut or broken wire. The sensor assembly is held in place by a wimpy plastic clip that breaks easily. Sometimes the wires get cut or broken when this happens.

Samsung RS265TD Ice maker does not fill with water. After I press test button and the ice maker cycles I manually fill the tray with water and it will eject on next cycle etc. Good water supply on thru...

Hello
Either the fill solinoid is bad or the inlet tube at the ice maker is frozen.
Try running a hair dryer to remove any ice that may be blocking the water from coming into the ice maker tray.

Ice maker dump pan stays up side down

Your model has the twist tray style ice maker. The part number for you front section that contains the motor assembly is DA97-00258E Ice Maker Assembly. You can try by taking it out and seeing if the tray will return back up to the home position but stopping there make me question if the thermal fuse in wiring harness may have blown. We may need to test that wire also to see if the thermal fuse is still good, I will leave you some of the links and ready to help when you need me, Thanks, Sea Breeze

Hi,
You can purchase this part as a replacement for your ice maker. it is a simple float switch that turns off the water when the tray is full.
If it is broken, the tray will either overfill or not fill enough.
There are many online spares shops, so find the assembly you require.
You can replace it as a DIY fix observing standard safety procedures.

Ice Maker is not working on my Whirlpool Gold Refrigerator

I removed six screws from the ice maker to pull it out of the refrigerator.  Their are four screws holding the ice maker in place and two screws on the ice maker door.  Had problems getting the electrical harness disconnected.  Used hot water to removed the ice cubes that were struck in the ice tray.  Poured all remaining water into a bucket and re-installed ice maker.  As of now, the ice maker is making ice !

Ice Maker Not Making Ice

There is no pump per say.. the water pressure is all that fills the ice maker and provides water to the drinking dispensor. The solenoids are also different, one activates for ice maker and the other for drinking water. The fastest way to check water flow is to swap the wires on the solenoids so the drinking water "power" will now power the ice fill solenoid. Once the plugs are swapped and you press the drinking water lever the ice maker should pour water out the fill tube. If that works then you know the solenoid, tube, etc. are all fine. I'd suspect then that the ice maker fill solenoid isn't getting power when it is suppose to fill. Let me know what this test result is.
