I have a A703C Kenwood Chef that has not been used for ages as the plastic 'cogs' are worn. It makes a lot of noise and has a hot burning plastic smell. Does anyone know if this can be repaired? Any h
The machine is approx 30 years old and has mincer and liquidiser attachments. Serial No 0129952

If the attachments that you are talking about are the dough hook and the whip, then the red lever is not used to put them in or take them out. The red lever releases the plastic housing on the end of the mixer, which then exposes the mounting hole for the major attachments such as the grinder, sausage maker, etc. You push the red plastic lever, then gently pull off the plastic end of the mixer. It should come off with absolutely no force. Then insert your food grinder or other attachment with the red lever held back. Once the cog on the grinder is aligned with the fitting inside the hole, release the red lever so that the recessed hole on the grinder will become engaged. The Kitchenaid classic stand mixer and the Viking stand mixer have essentially the same set up.
I couldn't remove the K-Beater as when I tried to turn it the whole mechanism turned with it. I couldn't even remove the splashguard! I was going to take it to the Kenwood factory (a few miles from home) but then I thought I'd give it one more go and this is what I did...
Next to where the K-Beater attaches in the middle of the circular plate is a lug with a pointed-shape bolt on the end. Remove this with a spanner and the beater plus gear cog can be removed.
Place some mole grips or wide pliers on a worktop and sit the cogged gear in to it and grip so that it won't turn.
Now you should be able to remove the K-Beater!
Perhaps someone can suggest how to stop it happening again. I haven't attached anything since but will update this post if I have any other helpful tips.
Hi, maybe your circuit its not burning, in theses models its normally the capacitor or triac, resistor as well,
with just change thats components the machine working again
Hi sometimes, its not the motor, maybe its the speed control, in this model same A701 its centrifugal system, if the capacitor or resistor not working fine, give this smell . you must give your Kenwood for repair or check
