Re: my Coby 7125-4 says its not compatible with AppsLib
I am having the same problem with the mid7120. I bought two for my boys for Xmas. The appslib worked the day before Christmas. On Christmas day, I noticed their site was under maintenance. Now it says my device is not compatible on one and says to reset the date to June 20,2010 on the other.
Go to the android-sdk-windows folder that you unzipped
Launch SDKManager.exe
Under choose which package to install, click accept all. As a part of what it is downloading, it will download the Android USB drivers. This part will probably take like 30 minutes or more to complete.
Once the download is done, close the SDK Manager.
You should now see a folder called usb_driver. Open that folder.
Plug in your Kyros device. Windows will still not find
the driver for the device, but go into the Device manager, and select
AndroidEclair, and update driver, browse my computer, let me pick from a
list of device drivers on my computer.
Click "Have Disk" and browse to the c:\android-sdk-windows\usb_driver folder. Double click on android_winusb.inf.
Select Android ADB Interface.
It will then come up with some messages about this is
unsigned or something, are you sure you want to do this, click yes or
continue.
Then it will install the driver and detect the kyros.
Make sure your KYROS is connected to the PC and launch DROID Explorer.
Now you can uninstall apps or install apps.
You need to download Appslib_2.apk, if you haven't already, click here and download the file to your PC.
Uninstall the old Appslib before you install the new version Applib2.
Transfer the Appslib_2.apk file to the [DOWNLOAD] folder on your device. Unplug your device.
Open the File Manager on your tablet, go into the Download folder, and
tap twice on the Appslib_2.apk file that you will find there to start
the installation.
Follow the on-screen instruction to install this newer version of the Appslib applications.

The model he's using is the 7022, but the same procedure works for the 7125. Download the APK files that are linked in the video description and then connect you 7125 to your computer to copy them over. Once you have them copied, use the APK Installer that came pre-installed on your 7125 to load them. Make sure you load them in the order given on the video! I loaded them in the wrong order the first time and had to do a factory reset because the Back button (silver circle) no longer functioned.
Once you do all this you will be able to load the typical Android Marketplace and ditch the AppLib that doesn't seem to work.
I talked to Coby USA about this concern today. They are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. They said so many were sold for xmas that the appslib server crashed because so many people were trying to download apps. This started on Dec 25th, but worked fine up to that date. They said it could be a couple of days before it is fixed and to keep trying the appslib. There isnt a problem with the tablet................
