How do i unhide a folder on my asus laptop

Hello! Just search for the folder option setting and click on the view menu and click the show hidden files then ok. If you are using windows 7, just type the folder option on the start menu and it will appear. If you are unable to locate, go to control panel and search for the control panel.
tip

Windows 7 Godmode

The name would imply much more powerful and potentially devious capabilities, as seen in most games these days. Instead, the “God Mode” folder for Windows 7 supplies a tidy place to find nearly everything you can do within the Windows Control Panel.

To access the special capabilities of the God Mode folder, create a new folder anywhere on your Windows 7 computer and name it:

GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}

Make sure to type the filename exactly as above.

Once renamed, the icon will change to a control panel looking icon, and when opened you will be presented with a plethora of different tweaking options. On my Windows 7 Professional machine, I was shown 274 options. It appears to hold the main keywords for each option to use the search function within the control panel.

I can't view hidden folders in Windows Explorer

I assume you have a Vista machine since you can't find the Folder Options under Tools. It's been moved (who knows why!) to the Control Panel. Open Control Panel, double-click Folder Options, and there are the choices you're looking for.

How to protect folders from other users through command prompt

Try hiding the folder. Go to properties and check hidden under the General tab and then apply it. To view the folder you have to go in the Control Panel and click on Folder Options. Under the View tab select "show hidden files and folders" and then apply. If the other people that use the computer are not real computer literate then they will never know how to get to that folder and unless you tell them it's there they have no way of knowing that you have a folder "X".
If you don't like doing that then just go download Folder Lock.

Folder hide

Open tools menu, on top bar of your folder, and chose option 'folder options'. Alternatively open 'folder options' from control panel.
In 'folder options' box use view files option. In view files chose display hidden files and display system file.
Here is the way to do this in detail

To change attributes click right button of mouse on folder, chose properies, at the bottom of properties box you have the attributes.
