I have an E521T. It was beeping so we pulled the back of the freezer compartment off and there was an enormous amount of ice build up and the front coil had dropped down. We got rid of all the ice and replaced the fan unit. It still beeps and the light flashes. We push the mode button and it stops beeping for a few hours but the light still flashes.

The fan is still not working. What do I check now? I checked the old fan to see if it would work when hooked up to a power source and it did. I'm at a loss on what to check now.

SOURCE: Drain plugged in freezer

First of all, is it ice or frost? If it is ice, I would say you have a leaky water valve to icemaker, running down evap. coils. Replace water valve. If you have frost-find out why it is not defrosting(defrost heater, defrost thermostat, or defrost timer.

I would reset the module. Open the fridge door, keep the freezer door closed, then press the mode button (located on the display panel. This will re initiate the electronics

SOURCE: ice keeps building up on coils

We had the same problem with our GE frig, a Profile 24. When the tech came out, he explained that the energy efficient models have only 1 defrost heater, but the older units had 2 and the hook up and mounting positions were still there. As long as I directed him to install the 2nd heater he could do it. It turned out the original heater was just fine, so the replacement was installed in the 2nd heater space and it has worked fine for several years now. Before doing this on yours, I would verify that the defrost timer is working and the heater unit is ok.

Have they cleaned the drain tube that runs down the back of the fridge? If not and the tube is clogged water will back up and give you the problem that you are having. The only other thing that I can think of, is that the defrost cycle may not be set to a minimum amount of time to where this can be increased to allow the freezer not to let the ice build up.

Model No IK 458 -4-4T; Product No 925 780 652 02 Ser No 14100010. I get ice build-up on floor of fast freezer comp which jams pull-out basket.

If the defroster coil is not working, then ice will build up on the coils inside the back of the refrigerator.

But, you're saying that it's accumulating on the floor of the freezer jamming the pull out basket.

I would say that the timer or overflow valve is bad on this refrigerator causing ice to build up on the floor of the fast freezer compartment causing the jamming.

Ice building in freezer and water leaking in the fridge section

I will say that you may have to call someone in, but it is most likely the thermostat for the freezer, when the freezer reaches setpoint, that stat will kick the compressor off, but it sounds like yours is running until it the coils freeze, which brings another problem in hand is a dirty coil. Those two are your best bet. Best of luck!!
