It seems like the lid lock has maufunctioned. It will not lock so therefor it will not fill so our clothes will not get washed. It makes the clicking noise as it attempts to lock but the lid wont lock an you can lift the lid thruout this process... What do we do?

Your washer lid lock button is locked and lid was not put down before it locked, which is why the light is flashing. Therefore, push the "START" button until you see the lid lock button is off (Approx 3 seconds). Once it is off, then you can put the lid down and push the start button again, which will lock the lid into place. The washer will NOT drain or wash or spin unless the lid itself is in the locked position. If you were able to get the lid down and locked and it still doesn't work, then you need a technician to replace a wiring harness. However, you mentioned that the lid lock button was flashing, therefore, it stands to reason that your lid is NOT locked down.

Could be the top lid switch. If the timer has stopped moving (you can no longer hear it clicking along) good chance that's what it is. When it has stopped try pushing hard down on the top of the lid AND/OR put a piece of plastic (or something ) into the lid latch switch... See if it continues on with the wash cycle...

The symptoms you describe are often caused by a lid switch malfunction. It may be loose or not making good contact. If you open and close the lid, you should hear a "clicking" sound as the lid switch is activated. If you do not hear the switch, check to make sure the lid strike in still intact. This is a small plastic piece mounted on the lid that pushes down on the switch through a slot on the wash tub opening on the right hand side. If this piece breaks off, it will give the same symptoms of a broken lid switch. Next, check the two mounting screws on the right side of the wash tub opening to make sure they are tight. These are the mounting screws for the lid switch. Sometimes they come loose and the switch does not make proper contact. check to make sure the lid switch is closing when you close the lid. When you open and close the lid you should here a click similar to a wall light switch.

Also check the lid to make sure the tab has not broken off that actuates the lid switch, your model may not have a tab on the lid.

Sounds like very worn motor brushes to me, as its trying to turn the drum but has'nt the power needed to maintain any momentum,and the blinking door light is because of the bad cotact from brushes to motor.About £20 for a set of brushes or get an engineer to fit new brushes,but get a price first.
