Mine wasn't turning on, I guess the battery was superlow. I solved it by randomly turning it on and off. Like I held it for 15 seconds, then for 5 seconds, then I tried flicking the on as many times I could in 10 seconds and it turned on briefly but turned off. So plugged it into the USB and it turned on. Hopefully it works after recharging.

How to Reset a Sansa Clip

The Sansa Clip is a high-quality MP3 player. It holds hundreds of songs and is built for portability. The "clip" allows you to attach it to your clothing or belt while you are working out or on the go. Even the best MP3 players can encounter some problems, and the Sansa Clip is no exception. If your Sansa Clip freezes up and does not respond, you may have to try resetting or reformatting it.

Turn Sansa Clip on. Press the "Menu" (home) button.

Press the bottom of the scroll wheel until you reach the "Settings" screen. Push the center button to choose "Settings."

Scroll down to "Reset All" and select. You'll be asked to confirm the reset. Select "Yes." This option will simply allow you to reset the language and location settings on your Sansa Clip. It will not erase data from the clip. To do a complete factory restore, follow Steps 4 and 5.

In the "Settings" menu, scroll down until you reach "Format" and then select. You will be asked to confirm that you wish to format. Select "Yes."

Wait for the screen to say "Formatting Complete." You have now cleared all the files from your Sansa Clip and reset it to factory settings.
Resetting a Frozen Sansa Clip

Push the power button up and hold it for 20 seconds. Release it, then turn it on again.

Go to the Sansa website and download the "Sansa Firmware Updater."

Select "Run" when the updater installs. (Installation will take less than two minutes.)

Wait for the Sansa Firmware Updater to run through its system test. It will ask you to connect the Sansa Clip to the computer to update your Sansa's software.

Connect the Sansa Clip. Remove it from the computer when instructed. If this process does not unfreeze your Sansa Clip, contact Sansa support at the Sansa Firmware Updater website.

Tips & Warnings

*
You should download the Sansa Firmware Updater to your computer even if you aren't having a problem with your Sansa. This will ensure that your device software remains up-to-date and free of technical glitches.
*
Reformatting the Sansa Clip will erase all songs and data on the device. Resetting will simply change your player's settings.

I hv sansa clip 1gb - in which i have some songs i.e aprox.850mb and that cannot be seen in my pc in sansa clip as a drive g.how to delete songs and add songs , is there any driver of software or...

1. First, check your device setting up on MTP or MSC? Turn on device, go to "settings" , press down or up to find "USB Mode", you can see the check mark at MTP (auto detect) or MSC mode. Change to another usb mode.
2. You have 2 ways to delete songs:
2.1. Delete songs by device: play songs, press down (sub menu) until you meet "delete song", select it and yes
If you delete all items in device: Settings, Format, and yes
2.2. Delete songs by computer: plug device to computer, double click on device icon, Music folder, and delete songs you want. If you don't see songs in there, unplug the device from pc, and then change USB mode, and plug device to pc to delete.

My Sansa Clip 2GB MP3 player won't let me add any more songs to it, even though there's 1.26 GB still available. I don't want to reformat the player, cuz that'll delete the songs I already have on there. ...

Hi there..

When you say having difficulty in adding the songs in CLIP, though you have enough space. I'd kindly request you to check for the number of songs that you have added.

Because when you add as MP3 player by default its bit rate is 128kbps so you can add up to 500 songs only. Kindly have a check on it.

I have given the number of songs that can be added with related to size of MP3 player..

Size of the player :512MB 1GB 2GB 4GB 8GB 16GB 32GB
Number of songs : 125 250 500 1000 2000 4000 8000

Kindly revert if any clarifications....

I just got a sansa clip 1gb mp3 player & need help on everything!

The Sansa Clip is not compatible with iTunes. You will have to get your music from another music service, preferably one that gives you the songs in mp3 format instead of AAC format (although it will accept WMA's, the DRM-protection system on most WMA's will give you problems down the line, especially if you cancel the music service that you got them from - songs in mp3 format will be usable even after you've cancelled your music service subscription).

Sandisk keeps skipping/freezing songs!

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
-----
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx

Sansa clip mp3 player

To help you with that, I need to know what operating system your using (XP, Vista, ect...) and what other devices you have plugged into the computer. There are a few things you can try. When you plug it in, does it say it's connected? Does the "Found new hardware" wizard come up? Let me know, I'll see what I can do to help
