I have a 3581 tape drive that I attached to an iseries 520. I am trying to restore libraries from a fujifilm Ultrium Lto 4 800gb/1600gb tape. When I load this tape into the Drive I get the red Alarm light coming on with an Error 7 showing on the screen. Any ideas ?

Sounds like a lost leader. When the tape is loaded there is a leader in the tape drive that hooks onto the end of the tape and pulls it out and onto the take up reel. If the leader gets out of position then the drive fails to load the tape and it is ejected. To fix it requires taking the drive apart. This might be a good time to upgrade to a newer model LTO. They were redesigned to eliminate this problem.
