Lamp lite flashing

Possible lamp or color wheel---remove the lamp and look to see it is not shattered inside.

not much to go on here but either the lamp needs replaced or the lamp timer needs re-set. could also be light engine or main power supply board.

Probable Lamp. If lamp hasn't bown the red Lamp Lite won't flash but other lamp issues cause stby timer light to continue flashing. If stby red lite is flashing, count the no. of times flashing - could open thermal fuse (6X flashing)

My Sony trinitron has the stero lite on steady and standby lite flashes four times then pauses and repeats. Can you tell me the circuit/condition causing the set to not turn on.

remove back panel. blow out all the dust from all the components except the fan on the right.
Vacuum out all the dust.
Have you replaced the lamp? that would help too.
There are 2 small red lamp. One indicates HEAT problem. The other one is the LAMP indicator.

That is definitely the Light Engine (also referred to as an optical block) Very expensive.

3 times flash of standby light shows that Lamp Cover is not mounted properly after replacement of Lamp.
Please fix lamp cover properly because cover has to press protection switch in circuit.

Doulbe check in the owner's manual, but this is usually an indication of a bad lamp or fan error. There will be a table in the owner's manual listing the error codes as shown by these lights. I can't give you more details without the exact model number.

bad lamp will cause 90% of problems you can take it out to see if it is broken filament is usually shattered
