I got cd problem and followed sir williams advice and removed upper and lower filters, and then restarted pc but drivers did not reinstall as he said they would.

Cd is not recognised in my computer and the cd tray will not even open

SOURCE: Problem with sony crx880a cd/dvd drive

It sounds like you have already tried everything I can think of. I would be looking at the actual drive and maybe considering a replacement.

The lock on the drive is failing, you'll need to replace the drive.

SOURCE: tsstcorp dvd+-rw ts-l632h cd/dvd not working.

Reboot and hit F12 to run Dell Diagnostics on the drive. It does sound like it could be bad.
If it is, you may need to replace it.
These drives have been failing a lot lately, and even the firmware patch is not helping.

The DVD rom of my hp(6735s) is not working its just ejecting when a request for openining a dvd or cd is performed. Thanx in advice.

Sir i have samsung cd rw drive i play mp3 cd some time after i change a new disk the drive give no responce i check in my computer but there is no drive show . i install new operating system...

make sure that the cd rw is getting enough consistent power test all leads that are attached to the cd rom including electical extensions and make sure they have a secure connection or just replace them there might be bad/faulty or
your drivers may have been corrupted or you might have a virus run your antivrus program
you might have to physically unplug the leads for this cd rw then plug them back in this will activate found new hardware wizard

Hi, i have an asus laptop, the cd player wont play anything. its spinning and sounds as though its about to load in but nothing comes up not even an error!! itunes, realplayer or windows wont pull it...

Machine says drivers are installed but cd n dvd driver not found wont play anything ??help

try deleting upper and lower filters of your cd/dvd drive. run regedit on start search. follow this path: local machine, system, current control set, control, class, 4D36E965- E325 - 11CE - BFC1- 08002BE10318. then on the window under Name look for upper and/or lower filters. right click on it and delete. restart pc. then you're good to go.
