Blue dots on my projector screen

When I bought this projector second hand there were a few tiny blue dots appearing on the the screen, gradually there are more and more. now there are literally thousands and when a dark part of the movie is playing you can hardly see the picture. Does anyone know if I can get this fixed

Hi steve salter, I want to help you with your question, but I need more information from you. Can you please add details in the comment box? Model # of TV would help. If the TV is a DLP it's possible the chip is failing which can be replaced.

SOURCE: bluish hazy texture on my screen

It sound like the light engine is going out or already out. I would take it to a certified Hitachi dealer have them check it out then I would call Hitachi to have them fix it for free.

SOURCE: Dark Color on TV. Can't adjust the color correctly

Having same problem now for a second time on a 57T500. First time was a bad green bulb that was covered under warranty. Only lasted 2 years....currently debating wether to fix or buy a new set. Bulbs cost about $300. Set is only 5 years old, so very dissapointed with quality.

Calmly explain that you know the white dot problem is rampant, that you know that these failures are being handled out-of-warranty, and that you'd like to have your unit handled similarly. (For the record--never, never get irate with a phone CSR. You get much more with sugar than you do with salt.)

A little research will show you that Texas Instruments is the primary manufacturer of the DMDs. They license other companies to sell their devices in their rebranded units. So any white dot problem can be handled the same way with any other company. Be patient, but be firm. Never be afraid to calmly ask to speak to a supervisor when you don't receive the answer you're expecting.

Many white dots appears on the screen of my benq w600 projector

Jacob, what element on the mainboard is the source of these dots? I have the same problem - it is only one dot now, but I think there will be more with time.
Also, the second question is: how do I unscrew the mainboard from benq W600+? I remoced the metal cover, unplugged all the cables, but there's something still not letting the board go.

Image is bright but there is a slight issue - on the left hand side a purple line displays vertically. Anybody knows why is this fault appeared and how could it be solved.

There is three LCD in the projector red, green and blue. If green LCD make any fault mean line or dot or dots then screen show these line or dot in purple color:
If line is very straight and sharp edges then green LCD is faulty and need to be replaced.
If line is not straight and faded edges then some thing in LCD block so your projector need service

What does it mean by dead cells?

I assume this is related to your LCD monitor.
I think you mean dead pixels. The LCD monitor has tiny pixel elements, one for each red, blue, green color and each one of these colored pixels are turnes on by a transistor. When a transistor fails then the colored pixel it controls does not light up. This is a dead pixel and it shows up as a tiny black dot.
If the screen displays a blue screen, a dead blue pixel will appear as a tiny black dot in the blue screen.
You normally would not notice a few dead pixels unless they are grouped together.

I have a green dot on my screen of my JVC HD52G887

Hello. If it resembles a tiny bright green dot, this is most probably a dead pixel. In the troubleshooting guide in the user manual, the manufacturer states that some pixel loss is normal--either they will be gone or permanently "on". If the unit is new(i.e. still under some warranty) talk with the supplier about options--they *may* decide to replace it if the dot is in a particularly annoying location. Be aware though, they won't be under obligation to do so. I own a LCD projector with a few visible pixels--as devices such as these(lcd tv's, projectors, plasma, etc.) age, this type of phenomenon is going to occur. Normally--and this certainly isn't always true, there is a tolerance of 3-9 pixels. Check with the supplier and/or manufacturer for individual specs. Especially if the unit is under warranty!--Hope I successfully assisted you.---Rick

Large dot in the middle of the projected display

there is a burned-in spot on the polerizer light filter for the blue lcd. it makes sure the light is blue coming through, that's why it is black on a blue screen, and yellow when the red and green are the only light showing through. it needs to be replaced. pat # PFiLW0213CEZZ.

Dots on projector screen.

if the dots are pixelated, you have an lcd issue (or if you have a dlp, it's a dmd issue). if it's not pixelated, try to focus the lens on them. if you can, it's dust. blow it out with canned air.
