Keyboard does not work during boot, can not get to BIOS
I don't know if I have a board problem or a processor problem. When I woke my computer yesterday morning, the KB and mouse were not working. I plugged them into the two available USB3 ports and it started working. I checked the device manager and it showed two of the USB ports not working so shut the computer down and reset the BIOS and rebooted. On boot, I pressed the DEL key to enter BIOS and nothing happen as the computer is still not seeing my KB or mouse. After it booted and windows loaded the USB ports were still not working so I decided to reload a "system restore". Part way through I got a "Blue Screen" and the computer rebooted. The problem now is on a screen that says "Windows Resume Loader" and I'm suppose to make a selection, only problem is the keyboard is not working.

During boot up, the screen should show "press delete to enter set up" or a similar phrase. Have you tried that? If you don't get that screen you may be locked out at the BIOS level. You would have to reset/clear the CMOS memory on your motherboard. Search for how to do that on your particular board.
BIOS is a software program that controls basic functions in your computer, such as boot order, keyboard control and how your processor interacts with memory cards. If you get an "NTLDR Is Missing" error, inspect your BIOS utility to make sure your computer is booting up from the right place. Cmos is located in BIOS Restart your computer during the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS if you need to change any of the settings using the arrow keys you can load failsafe or optimised defaults after you make any changes in BIOS press Esc then press the F10 button save to cmos to restart

Hi,
That sounds like a Mother board problem.
Try this, when you turned the computer on, press F8 don't let until the bios shows.
If the bios did not shows up, problem would be........
Check the processor, replace w/ similar one.
Check the power supply unit, if you have a spare one, use it just to check the system.
Check the processor seat pins( where the processor sits ) pins might have burned.
if you are referring to a password protected hard drive
When you boot up to the log in screen type in administrator as user to log in if you cant log in
during the boot up process you will see on the screen for a short amount of time press a certain keyto enter set up press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS scroll down to set user password or supervisor password you can change or remove your password from there

The most common way that we know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing the Cmos battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard. Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself. Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip. So by cutting off cmos the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased.
cmos battery Under the keyboard or bottom of laptop - If you are working on a laptop computer the location of the dipswitch (almost never a jumper) can be under the keyboard or on the bottom of the laptop in a compartment such as the memory compartment. Although on some motherboards the Cmos battery is soldered inHope this helps you
