Question about Rio Forge Sport Digital Media Player
I used Rio Music Manager to put tracks on the memory card(s) and player. Music manager says the songs are on the Forge. The songs that are on the card(s) do not ever play or display on the Forge. I swapped cards, players, have rebooted. Do I need to wipe it out and start over? I will Never say ipod!

SOURCE: My Rio turns off mid-song
I would recommend wiping your player:
Windows only.... Please post if you are not using windows...
Open My Computer with your Rio plugged in.
Right click on your Rio carbon and click on format.
Leave the default values - if it asks you something then use your initiative.
Then click on format.
Then when it has finished formatting go to your firmware (can be downloaded from: http://www.digitalnetworksna.com/support/rio/product.asp?prodID=235).
Follow the instructions and then it should load the firmware onto your player.
When it has done then your player should (in theory!) work properly.
Hope this helps

SOURCE: Forge not recognizing SD Card
the socket where card is installed may have internal loose element so its not detecting.check out the card in another device and also check another card in your device.this will confirm the fault.

When mine did this it meant the firmware inside had gotten corrupted. It started working again when I reinstalled the firmware. The official firmware is available at the official website, and wikipedia promotes an unofficial firmware that provides more features.
For either of them, plug the unit into the USB port of your computer, then run the utility to upgrade the your Forge.
(Eventually, my Forge's internal memory storage died - it still play music from card memory, but every time I turn it on I have tell it my language is english etc.)
I hope that helps.
