Temperature display continuous flashing and continuous clicking noise

LOW / NO BATTERY ALARM
The Low/No battery alarm will activate when the
power level of the battery becomes low. The display
will alternate between "b" (Battery, See figure 8) and
the cabinet temperature, the red alarm light will
become illuminated and the control panel will beep
every five seconds. To stop the audible alarm (beep),
press the "ALARM RESET" button. The red alarm
light will remain on and the display will continue to
flash until a new battery is installed. This same alarm
will activate if there is no battery installed

DEF stands for "Defrost"

Hello Michael - Sounds like the temperature control was accidently turned OFF. When this occurs the temperature control turns off the compressor, but does not disconnect the power to the light bulb or other electronics. Let's try activating the freezer by pressing the UP arrow until display shows "4" or desired setting. Allow 24 hours for temperature to stabilize. For future reference you can lock the control to keep from accidently changing the temperature setting. Your electronic board needs reprogramming or replacement. Very common with Whirlpool fridges.

In my opinion, since your going for the fast freeze mode, your freezer sets to its lowest operating temperature to fast tract the freezing process.

and about the noisy clicking sound it is probably a thermostat or relays depending on your system which starts and stop the compressor.

i think your freezer is just doing fine.

Alarm will sound if the temperature of the freezer rises to unsafe levels. An indicator light will flash and continue to flash until the temperature reaches a safe level. The buzzer will also sound and will continue for 48 hours unless a safe condition exists.

It means the compartment temperatures are increased then allowed limit.Generally in some appliances the maximum temperature is indicated at the display with an alarm after the electric cutoff.If the temp is high in the compartments
