I had a similar problem before. That was a problem of a sim-card. I visited my mobile operator to reissue a simcard. The same number, just the new Sim. Manager in the office said that simcard validity is 2-3 years, sometimes more.
I'm assuming your both on the same network? If your both tmobile customers or AT&T it should work without problems.
If not. The phone needs to be unlocked. to be used with another sim card from a different company. And to do that. Your friend can call his carrier he bought the phone from, request an unlock code, then unlock it that way, and you'll be able to use it just fine.
Only if your on either Tmobile or AT&T. No other sim cards will work.
If your mobile phone is on a contract with a service provider, most of the times it will be locked in with them for the duration of the contract, So if you try to insert a sim card from a different service provider, it may say "sim card not valid' Try to insert your original sim card and see if that works.
Otherwise if this IS your original sim card and all of a sudden this message "sim card not valid" has appeared, then the sim card has gone faulty and you need to get a new sim card from your service provider eg... Vodafone.
The original SIM has all your account information stored on it. The new SIM card must be activated either by transferring your your number to it or starting a new line. The only way I know of to do this is to call customer care from a landline with your SIM id. number and the phone number and name of the account holder.
When you have entered a wrong pin number three times the phone asks you for a PUK number. The PUK code is generally eight digit number. This PUK number is an unlocking code which helps you to unlock the phone and use it. If you enter a wrong PUK number 10 times than you simcard gets rejected. Then you will have to buy a new simcard. It might happen that your phone might ask you for PUK2 after you enter your PUK number. You can find the PUK code is in your SIM card documentation Starter Pack. If you do not have this then contact your phone service provider. Your cell phone service provider can give you the PUK code once they have confirmed your identity to prevent any stolen SIM access.
your phone is locked to virgin, which means u can only put virgin carrier sim. if u want to stay with vodafone, u can either unlock it through virgin, u will be charged or just buy a new phone
hte thing is...ur phone is handset bundled offer phone..so til the validity ends on ur new sim card..the phone is designed to detect only new sim..so ucant change til validity ends...or u may approach any private local mobile repair shop..i wont cost u much..
ne other prob's do tell me..N plz plz do rate me cya
i think the sim validity period has been expired ... i mean if you didnt recharge for 90 days the sim validity will be getting expired automatically... this is made by the network operator in standard for all sim cards .... if it is not true then try inserting in other handset & have a try ... if you face same problem then really the sim validity has been expired ... take a new sim....
