Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Notebook Logo
Khushal Naik Posted on Dec 15, 2011

Fatal Error: Every time my notebook loads, a blank screen appears that reads "Battery Not Recognized. System cannot charge your device". Press F1 to continue. An orange light begins to flash and switch between white and orange and when I disconnect the charging adapter, the computer switches off. This was the original battery and so I bought a new battery licensed by Dell. I connected it up but the same message came up and the lights too. I connected the adapter and switched it on and the message dissapeared as did the flashing lights. The icon says charging but it doesn't charge. even after 16 hours nothing happens.

It sounds like the port not the battery. You should take it someone to repair it. They are not expensive...

Gateway screen comes up; optical and (new) hard drive spin up, both drive lights light up during this time, fan spins up and air moves out of the side vent continously but still nothing but a blank screen....

If you have an operating system disc that came with your computer try putting it is and see if you can load the disc. If you can go to the repair screen after it loads all files. When you are at command prompt type: chkdsk /r

It will try to repair operating system. When done type "Exit" and restart. If you can't load the operating system disc you might be having a graphics card problem. Go to the manufacturer's website and check on their forums for your problem. Hope this helps

I might advise you reformat the operating system of the computer, or check the peripheral devices for this computer if properly connected? You got a fatal error it means that there is something that is not reading by the memory of the computer.
