I noticed yesterday that when I would start my dryer, it would run for about 10 minutes then the lights to the left of the dial (signal volume, etc.) would be flashing with the timer frozen. I can hit cancel and re-start it, but 10 minutes later it will do it again.
One possible cause would be the gas dryer radiant sensor. If it senses that the temperature is too hot it will shut off the unit to prevent a fire. Here is a link to the Sears part.

I understand that your Frigidaire Affinity dryer, model# FAQE7001LW, is not heating as well as only running about 5-7 minutes of the cycle before shutting off. There are a couple things to check.
1)The gas supply valve is not open. Check to make sure that the gas valve is open.
2)The dryer does not have enough air supply to support the burner flame. Check with your local gas company to make sure that your dryer is installed correctly.
3)There is a possibility that your LP gas supply tank is empty or there has been a utility interruption of natural gas. Try refilling or replacing the tank.
If you are still having trouble with your dryer, I suggest giving it a hard reset, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker for 3-5 minutes. When power is restored, start any cycle. If you are still noticing that there is no heat and it stops 5-7 minutes into the cycle, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician. Hope this is helpful.
It is possible your Cycling Themostat is not working properly. It determines at what temperature to turn heat on and off to maintain a consistent dryer temp. The High Limit Thermostat would turn off the heat but your dryer would still run. That leaves the Thermal Cut Off which is turning off your dryer. It might be faulty and turning off at too low a temp, or it might be doing it's job. In that case something else is wrong. If you can check the exhaust air temperature at the dryer, it should be under 175 degrees. If you are absolutely sure the vent is clear, then replace the Dryer Cycling Thermostat.
when you try to start it again do you hear a humming comeing from the motor? can you jump start it by turning the drum while holding the start button? If you say yes to these questions you have a bad motor.
You may need a motor .It sounds like you have a weak motor. When you start the dryer does it make a humming sound or sound slugish?Motor problemGoog luck:)
HI. This may be an issue concerning the pressure switch that is located inside the rim of the actual door.
This switch activates the main drum motor when a cycle is selected when you are ready to dry your clothes. As soon as you select the desired cycle and you load the clothes and shut the door, the last thing to do is push the start switch. if the door pressure switch is malfunctioning, it will not allow you to start the dryer. it will simply not spin.
If you can visibly see the light inside the drum/basket while the door is closed, this will confirm the malfunctioning pressure switch that is located inside the inner part of the door rim.
Its located in this position so that the actual door can make contact with it, in return, applying pressure to close the switch and complete the circuit. this will cause the dryer to spin.
You stated that you can see the drum light shinning when the door is closed and, this will confirm my diagnosis. You can preform a hard reset just to make sure of this defect. Simply unplug this unit for 5 minutes or, shut down the circuit breaker for 5 minutes as well. Any methods will work. Once the 5 minutes are up, simply plug back in this unit and try to run a normal cycle. if this problem is still and issue, it will once again confirm a door pressure switchfailure and you will need to replace the switch in this unit.
I would check the wire clips and connectors as well located on this switch for lose or worn contacts. this can be a problem spot as well.
Sounds to me like a thermal fuse. The link gives you multiple scenarios and you can even order replacement parts. I have used it myself with success on washers and dryers. Good luck!
