We have the TV hooked up to a Mac mini and a TV timer set to shut the TV off at 11:05 PM and to turn on at 7:00 AM but there is no option for having it come to the same setting it was one when it turned off. At least not that I have found.
If the TV timer is set within then it will restart in the same channel as when you connect the power to the timer the whole power is shut down and so the memory is lost on the last attempt. Hence the TV will start back on the default setting unless there is proper back up on the memory. Please check if the TV timer can be reset to solve this issue or the memory must be checked for fault to retain last settings.

To change from AM to PM toggle 24 times, a dot will illuminate in the lower right corner of the display next to the letters PM.
To Program the Timer: Press the PROGRAM button once, the letter P will flash. Press the HOUR button to set the ON time. Press the HOUR button to set the ON time. Press the PROGRAM button again, the letter E will flash. Press the HOUR button to set the OFF time. Press the PROGRAM button to exit program setting mode. Press the HOUR button to review the ON/OFF setting. To Connect/Operate the Timer: Plug device in to the timer and turn the device on.To Revise the ON/OFF Setting: Unplug the timer and plug it back in. Repeat the programming steps above. To Override the Timer: Press the PROGRAM button if you want the device to turn on before the preset time, but note the device will turn off at the preset time. For example, if the preset ON/OFF period is 3 pm - 4 pm, users can manually press PROGRAM to turn the device on at 2 PM, the timer will keep running until the preset off time at 4 pm.Suitable for use with outdoor appliances. The problem is the internal timer makes you select the source. On our older Samsung, there is an option for TV memory. One the newer one the there is the TV option and an option for a USB device to be connected.
Thanks. The problem is when I set the internal timer the Source is only TV or USB and then a choice of cable or air and then a choice of channel to start on.
We have an older Samsung with a similar interface but that one allows for the source to be TV Memory. And when that is selected there are no other choices, which is as it should be.
The only other choice Samsung LN52C530 52" has is for something to be connected via USB.
Right now we have the computer connected via HDMI1/DVI and nothing else is connected.
