Remove the fan and motor assembly from the hood (the fan motor will plug into the hood housing) and using an electrical motor cleaner (such as CRC electrical motor cleaner available from your local auto parts store) wash the motor and fan as completely as possible, lubricate the end bearings (sparingly) with a very light oil such as sewing machine oil, gun oil or as a last resort 3 in 1 oil. Hope this helps.

If I replace a range hood should I get good updraft if I reduce a existing 8 inch pipe to 6 inches for the new range hood. The ADKY I just bought was an excellent price

according to bernolii's equation air velocity increases as pipe dia decrease's given that force(fan) remains' the same

aka it's gonna make a lot more noise !!

The fan has three speeds. The highest speed is very loud! More than twice as loud as the middle speed. Is this normal? Unit is a KWCU360JSS-1

Yes, it is normal. Actually the energy into a fan is related to the third power or cube of the speed. The turbulence of the air contributes to the noise as well as vibration, etc.

Our Kitchenaid Range Hood model KWCU405SSS has a code "C" in the display. What does that mean?

I just did this and it works.

1.) Make sure to turn off both the fan and the lights. If you skip this step the next step won't work.

2.) Press and hold the + button for 4 seconds until the "C" disappears.

Repeat in another 100hrs of use.

Range modle is KGSS907SSS01.when i cooking or use the oven, some noice come out ,until over is off or the temperature is down.

is it possible the coolant fan is running and has started making some noise ...the fan will come on at temperature request it has a thermostat to bring it on when the oven gets hot enough and will cool down...sometimes the fan will run even when you turn the oven off if it is hot enough until the temperature gets down low enough to shut it off...maybe this is what is going on and the fan has started making noise now and will need to be replaced.... good luck to you

Convection oven fan is making noise as if hitting fan shroud on start-up and when door is opened.

Either the blades have moved out on the shaft or there is excessive shaft play allowing it to hit when there is not much pressure as during start up and when the door is opened.
