Camera is frozen and won't turn off. Can't do anything with it

Was watching a video I'd recorded and now the pause, mute, stop buttons are visible but I can't get any of them to work. Tried shutting the camera off to reset it and can't even do that.

The Casio Tryx has a tiny reset button next to the memory card slot, move the cover and you will see it. This should fix the problem. My screen froze on my wife and she thought, hell I thought she broke it. But works great now. Good luck

SOURCE: Video Recording Corrupted

What I have found that works GREAT is a program called VLC media player. It worked so well that I brought it up to the guys at Casio during a conference call one time and they said it was ok to recommend using it. LOL

Go to videolan.org and there will be a link there where you can download it for free. It works with Mac and PC. Should take care of your buffering and slow playing problem. :)

SOURCE: Casio EX-Z1080 camera,on/off button not turning on

Try cleaning the battery contacts inside the camera. If that doesn't help, try the following suggestions on this web page:
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/11/simple-fix-for-dead-cameras-that-wont.html
If none of these suggestions help, the on/off switch could be bad, as well as other things that will require servicing. Get an estimate before having it repaired, since the cost of repair can be high.
Good luck, and hope this helps.

How do I pause while recording? I can pause while playing back but can't seem to figure out how to pause a recording then resume, it just stops and starts a new clip. Please help. (My handycam is cano

The default is to start a new clip every time you press the stop button, but in settings you might be able to tell the camera to continue with the same clip provided you press record again with a set time. Not sure why you want to do this though - it's much easier to edit using small clips than very large ones.

With Olympus Stylus 1010 .... how do I 'pause' a video instead of constantly turning it 'on and off'? Thanks

Press the shutter release button, to start the video. (mode dial is on the video camera) Press the shutter release button again, to stop the video. When you press again, the recording starts again.
So that is like pause, because the camera is in standby waiting for the next recording.

My camera is frozen and won't turn off. Can't video or anything.

Take the batteries out; this should shut it off. It should restart normally after the batteries are put back in.

How can i watch video from Samsung s1050 in my computer?

Hi, Here is the procedure on how to play the video clip on your camera. Play mode If you have turned on the camera by pressing the POWER button, you can press the PLAY MODE button once to switch to Play mode and press it again to switch to Recording mode. You can turn the power on with the play mode button. The camera is turned on in play mode. Press the play mode button again and the camera will be turned off. You can set up the PLAY mode function by using the camera buttons and LCD
monitor. Playing back a still image
1. Select the PLAY mode by pressing the play mode button.
2. The last image stored on the memory is displayed on the LCD monitor.
3. Select the recorded movie clip and press the Play & Pause button to play back.

How do I pause while recording?

As far as I can tell, and yes the documentation is skimpy, when you press the 'record/play' button the video recording pauses. Make sure you press the video icon button, not the 'record/play' button to get it started again. If you press the 'record/play' button, it goes into a 'play back' mode.

Hope this helps...

Freezes

I had the same problem - you are (as I was) turning off the camera too soon after you hit the stop button after recording a scene. Wait until the word "disc access" appears (about 5 seconds after you hit the stop button. This "marks" the end of the scene. I just don't know how to edit that scene out or if it will delete it out. I know after finalizing the disc that scene will pause for a while (10 to 20 seconds even) when you watch it through the DVD player to the TV.

Help! Stopped Recording

Do you have a remote? Some camcorders you have to hit the record pause button on the remote and then hit pause. It then begins recording. I hope this works for you.

My camera - frozen?

Charging the batteries was the first move. Charge for at least 14 hours, and never shoot on low batteries. If the battery gives out while you are recording to memory, it can corrupt the storage media. The lens should work normally with a fully charged battery.
