How do I replace a Nordic Track C2255 drive belt?

The belt on my Nordic Track C2255 treadmill started bogging down the other day while I was running on it. I took the cover off of the motor area and can see that the drive belt is frayed. There was black "shavings" from it all over the floor. I have ordered a new drive belt, but I need instructions on how to replace it. I have searched YouTube, but none of them are Nordic Track treadmills. Can anyone advise?

The black shavings are normal on a treadmill. It may be that you need to tighten the walking belt. Try tightening the two bolts on the rear of the machine that hold the rear roller in place. You need to tighten each of them the exact same amount or you'll throw off the alignment. Tighten them three turns of the wrist and see if that helps. If not, try three more turns. If still nothing then replace the drive belt. That can be a real undertaking and you might want to consider contacting a professional.

Hi again, OK thanks, The belt slides on a track and can get debris or other things that stick and is probably causing the squealing. There are belt cleaners and dressings and lubricants but the best place and the best product for your treadmill can be found at this site:
www.TreadmillDoctor.com They offer many bits of advice and how to on many different kinds of treadmills and can tell you how to clean and apply their product. Good Luck to you, this should Fixya!

SOURCE: my nordic track treadmill won't decline

My wife had the same problem with her treadmill. I turned the beast on it's side, and unscrewed the plastic casing that houses the motor, computer, and all the electronics to the treadmill. I unplugged the incline/decline motor. Then on the bottom of the treadmill the long threaded rod that causes the incline needed to be moved. So I unbolted it from the catch, and manually screwed the rod back in with a wrench. Now the treadmill works fantastically, of course the incline/decline mechanism has been disabled, but I would rather have a treadmill with the incline disabled than have one always on 100% incline. Hope you found this helpful :)

SOURCE: My nordic track treadmill's walking belt stops

Unplug the unit remove the motor shroud inspect the drive belt if the rubber feel slick then my recommendation is to replace the drive belt. Adjusting the drive belt may take care of the problem if you do not need to adjust it too tight. If you choose to do the adjusting and feel you have adjusted the running belt thinking it would resolve the slipping, then back the tension down until it the running belt is slipping then adjust until the slippage is resolved.

SOURCE: need manual for nordic track walk fit 5000 1995

I can't help with the manual. But, if you reach under the area where the readout is, push up on the cord or any of the opening underneath the display will pop out. You should be able to find the battery compartment. The unit uses 2 AA batteries. If you find a manual, let me know.

Thanks.

Nordic Track T12 si , belt won't run

If the belt on your Nordic Track T12 si treadmill is not running even though the display and other functions appear to be working, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:
  1. Check the safety key: Ensure that the safety key is properly inserted into the console. The treadmill will not operate if the safety key is not securely in place.
  2. Reset the treadmill: Turn off the treadmill and unplug it from the power source. Wait for a few minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on. This can help reset the treadmill's internal systems and may resolve any temporary issues.
  3. Calibrate the incline: If you recently used the incline function, it's possible that the calibration of the incline mechanism is off. Consult the user manual for instructions on how to calibrate the incline. This process may vary depending on the specific model of your treadmill.
  4. Check the motor and drive belt: Inspect the motor and drive belt for any signs of damage or wear. If the drive belt is loose or worn out, it may prevent the belt from moving properly. If necessary, consult the user manual or contact Nordic Track customer support for guidance on inspecting and adjusting the motor and drive belt.
  5. Lubricate the belt: Insufficient lubrication can cause the belt to stick or not move smoothly. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to properly lubricate the treadmill belt. Use a silicone-based lubricant recommended by the manufacturer.
  6. Contact customer support: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, it is advisable to reach out to Nordic Track's customer support. Provide them with detailed information about the problem and any troubleshooting steps you have already taken. They will be able to offer further assistance, including potential repair options or guidance from a technician.

I have a Nordic Track C2255. When I turn it on the motor run, but the belt won't move. I'm thinking that replacing the MOTOR CONTROL BOARD would solve the issue, but need to know before I spend the $.

You must observe 3 things:
Open the cover from motor
1) See if the Drive belt or belt for motor is Loose?
if does, adjust the 2 bolts for tension belt motor the deflection will be 1/8"
2) or Too tight loose the 2 bolts , and loose little until you have deflection for 1/8" and tight the bolts again, keeping the deflection for 1/8"
3) See if the belt is Cut!! replace it, by new one.

Hello there, Your are perfectly fine by making that adjustment. That is actually what it is for. When the belts get older and start stretching you can move that spring and get more tension. It does not harm the roller or the drive motor.
