Telephone calls Hello, I sometimes answer my base station telephone, which is in the bedroom and need to move to my office which is where my handset (1) is located. Why can't I leave the base station telephone off the hook and answer the same call by pushing talk on my handset? Thanks. This is driving me nuts! Iain

Press HOLD on the base station, the 2nd button from the bottom on the right.

That lets any phone now pick up on the call.

Because it is a digital phone, controlled by a little computer inside the base and can only transfer a call while on hold. It won't let a handset and base listen and talk at the same time to a phone call like a party line analog phone.

You can use the intercom to talk to the base or any handset.

I have a KX-TG6700 base station and 4 Handsets. When I have been calling on the handsets I have recently found that there is static on the line. Later I realized that there is problem with the DTMF being...

The KX-TG6700 manual at: http://www.panasonic.ca/PDP/OperatingInstructions/kxtg6700-oi-eng.pdfhttp://www.panasonic.ca/PDP/OperatingInstructions/kxtg6700-oi-eng.pdf

States:

For best performance
Base unit location/avoiding noise
The base unit and other compatible
Panasonic units use radio waves to
communicate with each other.
For maximum distance and noise-free
operation, we recommend the following:
LPlacing the product away from electrical
appliances.
LPlacing the base unit in a HIGH and
CENTRAL location with no obstructions
such as walls.
LRaising the antennas vertically.
LIf you use the handset near a microwave
oven which is being used, noise may be
heard. Move away from the microwave
oven and closer to the base unit.
LIf you use the handset near another
cordless phone’s base unit, noise may
be heard. Move away from the other
cordless phone’s base unit and closer to
your base unit.

Have you considered all these points?

Is there a way you can move the base station to another location in your house to see if the problem get better? I don't beleive your base station is faulty, I suspect interference from something.

I don't think the 2.4GHz set is causing any issues, but you never know, try unplugged it for a while to investigate.

If you do determine that the base station is faulty there probably isn't many options to get it repair other than sending it to Panasonic. May be cheaper to buy a new base station to go with your extra handsets.

Good Luck!

HOW DO I DEREGISTER MY BASE STATION?

If you want to replace a handset or re-assign the designated handset number of a registered handset, you must de-register all the handsets and then individually register each handset.
To de-register all handsets:
Press and hold
FIND HANDSET
on the telephone base for about 10
seconds (until the IN USE light on the telephone base turns on and starts to flash), then release FIND HANDSET
.
Press and release
FIND HANDSET again. (You must press FIND HANDSET
while the IN USE light is still flashing. The IN USE light flashes for
approximately seven seconds.)
All system handsets show
CONNECTING...
The de-registration process
takes about 10 seconds to complete. All handsets show
NOT REGISTERED
when the de-registration completes.
If de-registration fails, you might need to reset the telephone and try again.
To reset:
Pick up the registered handset and then press
/FLASH
.
Press
OFF/CLEAR
and place the handset back in the telephone base.
-OR-
Unplug the power from the telephone base, then plug it back in.
note:
You cannot de-register a handset if any system handset is in use.

After de-registering, proceed with registering process:
If the handset screen does not show LOW BATTERY
or HANDSET X, you will need to charge the handset for at least five minutes before registering to the telephone base.
To register a handset:
Place the unregistered handset in the telephone base or charger. If
PRESS FIND HS 4 SEC ON BASE
does not appear on the handset screen after a few seconds, remove the handset and place it in the telephone base or charger again.
On the telephone base, press and hold
FIND HANDSET
for about four seconds (until the red IN USE light on the telephone base turns on) and then release the button. The handset shows
PLEASE WAIT...
and it takes about 10 seconds to complete the registration. The handset shows
HANDSET X REGISTERED
(X represents the handset number assigned)
and you hear a beep when the registration completes.

How do i get volume on my binatone 3325 handset

Press C/8 to unmute the microphone.

complete installations
Plug the power adapter
& line cord
into the base station.
Plug the power adapter into a 230Vac, 50Hz
mains socket, the other end of the line cord
into your telephone line socket.
Warning: Always use the line cord provided in the box.
Other line cords may not be compatible and may not work.
Warning: Only use the power adapter supplied.
Others will result in non-compliance with the safety
specification EN60950, and will invalidate any approval
given with this apparatus.
Warning: The Base unit needs mains power for
normal operation, not just for charging the handset batteries.
Installing and charging the batteries
Slide open the battery compartment cover.
Place the 2 batteries with the correct polarity,
as shown.
Slide the battery compartment cover back.
Put the handset on the base and charge for
15 hours before first time use. The handset
beeps when charging starts.
Warning: Only use the AAA size NiMH rechargeable
batteries.
If you have a Broadband Line
If you connect your telephone to a line with a broadband connection, you will need to
insert a micro-filter between the telephone and the telephone line, otherwise you may
get interference between the telephone and the broadband, which could cause
problems.
In a home with broadband, every telephone must have a micro-filter connected, not just the one at the telephone point that your modem is connected to.
If you need more broadband micro-filters, contact your broadband provider.

Connection and Conditions for use:
You can connect your phone to a direct exchange line (DEL) on a local
exchange with its own phone number; to an extension socket
connected to a DEL; or to an extension on an approved compatible
PBX. Do not connect as an extension to a payphone.
The ringer equivalence number (REN) of all equipment (phones, fax
machines, modems, etc.) connected to an exchange line must not add
up to more than 4, otherwise one or more of them may not ring and/or
answer calls correctly. This phone has a REN of 1, and most other
telephones have a REN of 1 unless marked otherwise.
Handset - Base Connection
1) When purchased, all handsets are already registered to the base unit
and should link to it when they are all powered up.
2) To use your cordless handset and base unit together, you must be
able to establish a radio link between them. The signal between the
handset and the base is in accordance with the normal standards for
a DECT phone: Maximum range up to 300 metres outdoors or 50
metres indoors. Be aware that:
> Any large metal object, such as a refrigerator, mirror or filing cabinet,
between the handset and the base unit may block the radio signal.
> Other solid structures, like walls, may reduce the signal strength.
> Other electrical equipment may cause interference and/or affect the range.
3) Do not place close to another telephone, a TV or audio equipment - it
may cause interference.
4) Out of Range warning. If you hear a warning tone during a call,
and/or the sound in the earpiece becomes faint or distorted, you may be
going out of range of the base unit, so move nearer to the base unit
within 20 seconds, otherwise the call may be cut off.

When my home phone rings my internet disconnects

You need to make sure that you have an ADSL line filter connected before any home telephone or DECT base station (eg. a filter is required on the line between your physical telephone device and phone socket). This can also be achieved via a central ADSL phone line splitter.

---------- ADSL Filter -----> Telephone Handset 1 or DECT base station
<--- main telephone line --/
\-----------------------------------> ADSL Modem/Router ---> Computer
\----------ADSL Filter -----> Telephone Handset 2

Hope it helps: let me know how you go.

I can hear, but not talk, on my ATS RA2184BB cordless phone.

Have you tried unplugging your base station and all the handsets?

Sometimes the base station, where the power and the telephone line plugs into needs a reset. Just like a computer sometimes it needs a reboot.

If problem presists, take a regular analog phone and plug it in to the same jack as the cordless phone bas station, and see if it is a cable issue/ telephone company issue.

eventually contacted the BT team via telephone and apparently this is a common problem when using BT products with Talktalk & Virgin. To overcome this in the majority of cases, dial 1571 and connect to your voicemail, listen to the options and finally delete all messages. Hope this can be added to your list of solutions.
