Just go to the windows explorer or go to 'computer' and click on it. The drive should appear there. Then you can copy and paste the picture .jpeg files or whatever you want, and paste it or drag and drop with a mouse to the drive that is connected to the computer.

OK, if it an external drive, then it should have a USB cable that connects to a USB port on the side or back of your laptop or desktop. Just connect it up and it should be recognized by windows after the drivers are installed for it. You should hear verification of the USB connection being established in windows through the speakers if they're turned on and not muted. The drives should be formatted for use in Windows. There may be a setup file on the disk drive that allows you to register the product and set it up for backup and other tasks, as well.

I have just purchased a Seagate 500GB Desktop hard drive

There is software preloaded on the disk. If you have AutoPlay turned off in your system, it won't start automatically when you connect the drive. Just go to MyComputer and open the drive and you will find a setup file there to install the backup software (I think it's called Launch.exe).

Knocked over Seagate 500GB FA Pro Makes Beep Noise/Can't Connect

it sounds like the disc (inside the hard drive casing) has become jammed or what is known as "stickation". the best way to unstick the disc is usually another sharp blow. the best way to do this is to remove the drive from the external casing and, while holding it by one side, strike the other side downward onto a hard surface like a wood desk. do not strike it on metal or cement as you may cause more damage. make sure the surface is softer than the drive casing. it sounds extreme but it has worked for me on several occasions.

Seagate FreeAgent external hard drive 500GB not recognising directory tree

Its the rubbish software that Seagate have bundled with their drive which will not allow you to backup the system folders. Solution is to use another backup utility, a google search will quickly locate numerous FREE software products which will alow you to copy anything. Unfortunately when you start googling about this drive you may be quite distressed about your purchase, as i have been :( Problems lay ahead with this drive due to inadequate cooling.....
