NEFF Oven I have a single oven, model B1422. In this oven there is a light, this light has failed, i tried to remove the glass but no sucess, The light fixture is at the top right hand corner of the ven. HOW do i replace the failed light (lamp)

Most require a simple 1/4" nut driver to remove 2 screws that hold the glass housing over the bulb. Then just unscrew the bulb and install new one.

A common problem with this manufacturer I'm afraid. The screw thread of the glass almost welds itself to the metal casing it screws into.

It will turn and you can remove it however, the easiest way is to get leverage on the glass. This is best done by using a Baby Boa Strap Wrench, which you can pick up for a few pounds in a DIY store. I have removed many apparantly stuck round glass oven lamp covers in this way.

If the unit is less than two years old, cal 0844 892 8999 and ask for an engineer to come out. Alternatively, put on a pair of marigolds, this will help with the grip and remember that the cover comes of anti-clockwise if you are looking up at it. If you do not want to call an engineer out, call the number above and ask them to post out to you the lamp cover removal tool. Part number 613655.

In general it is a pain in the rear to do this if you are not familiar with this little trick.

I suspect the fan oven element has failed, this is located at the rear of the inner oven compartment behind a removeable cover
It is probably breaking down as the element gets hotter.

It is caused by a build up of burnt grease and fat on the glass lens.
Try putting a hot cloth around it, and try to remove it with the cloth wrapped around it

unscrew cover glass to gain access to bulb it unscrews normal thread very easy if glass stiff heat up oven for a few minutes and try again

If the oven fan is working o/k, then all you need to do is replace the oven element, a straightforward repair, and cost effective, if no fan, then could be expensive.

Open the door to the first notch. Lift it straight up off the hinges. Next, you'll have to dismantle the door. Remove all the screws around it and the glass will be held in by another frame. Unscrew the frame, clean the window and reverse for reassembly.

Unscrew glass cover anti-clockise, likewise unscrew bulb, and replace.
