SOURCE: Anyone know a good LED flashlight for camping?

you dont have to spend alot of money on led flashlights. they range from 1$ to well over 100$, In my experience and back ground. I prefer to keep several less costly ones than to spend way to much money on high dollar lights. befofe led i cant count how many mag lights i purchased or how many were lost, borrowed or stolen it depends on what your looking for and what options you want. i like to have several 1 to 2$ ones. and some that have features like position switch. for 1 led .3led or all led lamps working. or lights that have a spot light on the end and cluster leds on the side for area lighting, in my personal opinion if your going to hang on to it you cant beat a 4 or 5 D size mag light. take in to consideration they have led models now and also led conv. kits available for ones that have bulbs in them. but note you cannot focus your beam as wellwith led on mag lights. any way the main problem i sure you and any one who has owned small aluminum led flshlights has delt with the flickering hiting them and unscrewing the ends twisting back and forth to get the light to come back when you need it most. easy cure aluminum sucks as an electrical conductor. dielectric grease is your best friend. anywhere you have any connections such as the threads on the alum. flashlights. Also very important general purpose elect. conn. ac or dc and absoloutly if you own a boat please remember any elect. conn. and most important when you connect different types metals copper, lead, brass alluminum, tin galvanize, stainless, gold they all will fail lead to corrosion and or lose conductivity.and lead to damaging or ruining minor or major equipt. remember if your repairing boat wiring for instance and possibly replacing damaged equipt. having correct guage wire correct fuses for what amperage a curcuit or piece of equipt. needs. If you have corrosion at the end of your wire terminals and your fuses and fuse blocks. it will fail......so if its a flshight , acar or boat motor .airplane ect battery, if it conducts electricity clean it ,use dielectric, not wheel grease dielectric grease it conducts electricity. and try this on your inexpensive aluminium led lights. dollar store led flashlights work fine or any where you see them on sale. if they come with batterys most likely dispose of them. dont skimp on batterys. all quality batterys have a shelf life of several years. on sale aa and aaa i look for duracells or equivelent in 24,36 or 48 packs. i allways have some with me and share them with people in need. and thats another reason i keep a few cheap flashlights with me . even when i riding my HD Road King a simple flashight given to someone on the side of the road can be the gift at tjhat time that they will never forget. i apoligize for rambling . but im not typing im just talking . the typing is being prefom by dear friend xxxxxxxx I think I am .more than a dear friend and if you keep your hands and mouth off of me for a little while. I would have been done much sooner. and you might no what I actually typed. HAPPY HOLIDAYS everyone from Liz and Rick or as he likes call me LIck IT Ziggy

I have a COAST HX5 flashlight, LED I believe, that has stopped working.

Things do fail, so maybe it is just time you bought a new flashlight. Something like this is hardly worth repairing. It is doubtful you can get parts if you needed them.

Where can i find some good led bulbs? what about the web b2cled.com?

I didn't use the web b2cled.com previous. But I bought a led lamp from depotoffice.com and aurabuy.com. Both of them are good for us to choose a led flashlight. Especially the aurabuy, the price is affordable and the quality is warranty.

1995jeepwith241000 Buy. Or don't. Buy

If you are really mechanically inclined, and don't mind working on it a lot. The 95's had a lot of problems when they were new, I can't imagine they got better with age. If you are serious, check for oil leaks from the rear main, drive it and listen for noises from both differentials, you can usually see how the brakes are with a flashlight through the wheels. What I'm telling you is,be careful, with that many miles, you may be buying a headache.

I have an Xacta Mirage light, I believe it is LED. The bulb seems to be brned out and I cannot find any information regarding replacement bulbs. Can you help?

I cannot find any info either, so lets "figure" it out. Does the "bulb" look like an interchangable (replace-able) bulb - LED's "almost" never need replacing (for the most part) and manufacturers always solder them in. I'll assume that you cannot twist (or un-screw) the bulb.

Now what to do...if you really like this flashlight - you could open it up, un-solder (or cut leads) the LED and put a new one in. The LED to use is:

- one that can handle the voltage - measure voltage (with volt meter) at the burned LED with flashlight on (keep track of polarity, which wire is negative/positive for the new LED),
- you will check for a flat (fish eye magnifier) top surface or round top,
- check for size (diameter) of the LED.

Now match that up to an LED at www.digikey.com They will have higher prices but, you are only buying 1 LED and they have the biggest selection to better match you old LED.

There are lots of new flashlights out there and getting a new one may be a good option.

The Nokia 6500 is a mobile phone created by nokia Inc. The Nokia 6500 has a camera and flash so you can take pictures during the day and night. You can also use the camera flash of your cell phone as a flash light by downloading a free program from Ovi Store, Nokia's authorized online store. 3 Enter your cell phone number in the "Send to Mobile" pop-up screen. Ovi Store will send you a text message containing a link to the flashlight application. Wait for the message on your cell phone.
4 Open your message in your Nokia 6500. Open the link and follow the download instructions to install the flashlight application. Make sure your phone is able to access the Internet.
