BOSCH V651 Front Loader

Makes load noise when spinning, generally noisy, when at rest drum not rotating easily as it used to, but now very hard to turn, and when you push it round it makes a kind of deep scrapping noise...not high pitched but as if it is metal against metal.

Suspect you have a foreign object jammed between tub and drum.
to check, remove back panel, remove heater (held by one 10mm nut in the centre - just loosen the nut and prise the heater out.
you can then see into the gap and check if there is something stuck there - bra wires are the favourite

If you rotate the pulley on the back of the drum does it rotate the drum? i have seen these snap the back of the drum off. also they can have issues with the controller board for the motors which would require a technician to determine.

Awful bearing noise on spin.

Remove drum belt and spin drum by hand, if it is noisy or feels rough, then the main drum bearings have failed, which is a major repair.

From the front of the washer, spin the drum by hand, and if it feels rough, or is noisy, or rumbling, then the main drum bearings have failed..

Lg front loader makes squeaking sound and struggles to spin

The drum is powered by a small motor and pulley, inside the unit and under the drum. A large belt wraps around the drum and pulley, and a spring "thing" provides tension so that the belt won't slip. The squeaking sound indicates that something is slipping, and the sluggish drum says that it's the drive belt. Take off the back, locate the motor/pulley/spring thing, and check the belt tension by observing the belt with unit operating. At that point you should easily locate the noise, at the motor (noisy bearing, lube or replace), belt warn (replace) or possibly the felt pads located at the top of the drum worn (not as likely but they do fail causing the drum to resist being spun by the motor to the point that the belt starts to slip. Hope this helps!

Drum makes loud whinning noise when spinning at high rpms.

Remove drive belt.and turn drum by hand, if it feels rough or sounds noisy, then the main drum bearings have failed., also check that the main drum pulley is not loose. If you think it is the bearings, then it is quite an expensive repair.
Plz rate this solution.Thanks.

Whirlpool LHW0050PQ Front Loading Washer VERY NOISY during spin cycle

remove the top access panel 3 screws in top rear.
now look around and push on the drum from top
it has suspension shocks and springs like your car they should resist any movements.
look/wiggle the concrete balance blocks , no cracks or loose.
inside the tub are the arm solid /not loose.
run it with the top open what do you see/hear and where
look under the rubber flap in front did anything get under the tub

Wm noisy

drum bearings, check and investigate, remove drive belt and then rotate, if still noisy then yes its the drum bearings, if the noise stops when the belt removed the motor bearings are faulty costly repair on most models, sorry oh there is also the possibility there is something lodged within the drum cavity between the lining and the drum casing
