there is a motor with a flapper that opens and closes to keep your temp correct in the refrigerator side most likely the motor is bad and stuck open so your air from the freezer has constant flow to the refr side. the flapper is in the back of the refr behind a cover where the air flows in.

Hi, sounds to me as though your temperature control is faulty, and the unit is running all the time. This control will have to be replaced. This is something you can do if you take your time and draw a wiring diagram in case you forget. It will have a long coiled up wire with a bulb on the end of it mounted in the evaporator section in the refrigerator section. This all comes out together. This is the only thing that would cause this problem. Get all of the numbers, model, serial, and part numbers when you go to the appliance parts house to get one. You should have no problems in doing this. Please keep me posted as I am sure this unit is worth changing out the stat.

check the damper door between the freezer and refrigerator compartments,it most likely has frozen in the fully open position allowing cold air into refrige compartment all the time,you will see ice build up around the damper door unit,remove the door unit defrost,replace and then see if it moves when you change the refrige cold control

check position of thermistat bulb it should be on the plate

thermostat set ? might not be defrosting all the way. damper actuator not opening from freezer to refrigerator. is the condenser clean?

Sounds like a your problem may be in the thermostat. Reason I say that is because when you leave the door open it continues to run and freeze and frost is seen on the freezer walls. I just think maybe the thermostat has become less sensitive to temperature change. To test this unplug the freezer and connect the 2 wires to the temp control together. Then the refrigerator will run continuous until unplugged. Let me know, Sea Breeze

Take this unit back even if you bought it used and get a new one it is still under warranty.

Could be the temp control is not registering temps correctly. If you leave is below 6 does everything warm up? The compressor should only run when it needs to, not all the time. In other words, if you put it on 4 will the food stay cool (about 38F)? A typical unit only runs a few minutes a day if the doors are not opened up all the time.
