New Haier 7.2V rechargeable NI-MH battery pack for a new Haier Portable DVD player was stored in a drawer for 2 years until recently. Attemped to recharge battery pack via electrical outlet. Obtained blinking red and green lights on battery pack but was never able to obtain a charge. DVD player works only when pluged into electrical outlet. Please advise. Thank you.

Place the battery pack into your freezer overnight. In the morning charge it while still frozen. This fix will last about two years. I have been in the Laptop repair business for over 10 years. This is a common fix for laptop batteries.

The battery pack is charging but not holding charge beacause it was not used for a long time as you said.try to recharge and completely drain the batteries a couple of times and the batteries should start holding better the charge.Another thing you may want to check is if there is power coming out at teh battery pack connectors(you will need a small volt meter)

Put the battery pack into your freezer overnight. Next morning charge it while still frozen. I repair laptops and this fix works for at least 2 years.

Where can I find a battery pack for a Haier portable DVD 7" player?

try contacting R&D battery on the internet. They are good to "repak" your batteries with fresh cells if you can not find the proper new batteries.

Taking Care Of Your Laptop Battery

  1. Normally, a new battery pack comes in a very low charge condition and must be fully charged before use. Refer to the user manual of your portable electronic equipment for charging instructions.
  2. A new Dell Vostro A860 Battery needs to be fully charged and fully discharged or “cycled” as much as five times to condition them into performing at full capacity.
  3. Your equipment may report a fully charge condition in as short as 10 to 15 minutes when the new Dell Vostro 1015 Battery is being charged for the first time. This is a normal phenomenon especially for Nickel Cadmium (Ni-Cad) and Nickel Metal Hydride (Ni-MH) chemistries. When this happens, remove the dell vostro 1015 battery pack and let it cool down for about fifteen minutes then repeat the charging procedure.
  4. “Conditioning” (fully discharging and then fully charging) is necessary so as to maintain the optimum performance of a sony vgp-bps8 battery, and is recommended at least once a month particularly for Ni-Cad and Ni-MH batteries. Failure to do so could result in reduced charge capacity and can significantly shorten the sony vaio vgn-fz battery pack’s useful life. Lithium Ion batteries do not require conditioning.
  5. It is normal for a acer aspire 1410 battery pack to get warm when charging and during use. However, if the acer aspire 1410 battery pack gets excessive hot, there may be a problem with the portable electronic equipment’s charging circuit and should therefore be checked by a qualified technician.
  6. Rechargeable batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused for long periods of time. This is normal particularly in the case of Ni-MH and Li-Ion chemistries. For best results, always store a battery pack fully charged. It should be removed from the equipment and kept in a cool, dry and clean place.
  7. The amount of runtime a hp 510 battery produces depends on the power requirements of components in your electronic equipment. This could be the hard drive setting, screen intensity and back-lighting on notebook computers, the liquid crystal display (LCD) screen and floodlight feature in a video camcorder, or the tri-mode communications network of a cellular phone. Always refer to your equipment’s user manual for power management settings.

My camera just does not seem to hold a good battery charge. I use fully charged batteries and this also happens with Duarcell too. I am only using the camera in the "on" selection.

Some digital camera **** the life out of batteries, especially the older ones, even when off. It stores info like date and time etc. I take the batteries out when I am not using it for a while. True it is a pain resetting the time but it saves the batteries. Also go for the top line rechargebles,

Installed new batteries and the camera will not turn on. The camera has been sitting up for 6 mo. with no use. We used energizer lithium batteries.

Try using recomended batteries:
optional KODAK EASYSHARE Docks with 1 KODAK Ni-MH Rechargeable Digital Camera Battery KAA2HR; 2 Ni-MH batteries AA, 2 lithium batteries AA; 1 KODAK Lithium Digital Camera Battery CRV3; KODAK Ni-MH 2100mAh Battery Pack, KODAK Digital Camera Battery AA (ZR6); KODAK Alkaline Digital Camera Batteries AA; 3 volt DC input AC adapter

You can even contact Kodak direct and they will send you a free CRV3 battery to test with.

My Portable DVD Player Battery can't hold a charge

Rechargeable batteries can only be recharged so many times. They begin to slowly lose their capacity after about the first 5 charges until ultimately it won't hold a charge anymore. It appears that this is your problem. Look for a model number on the battery & do a Google search for it if you want to try & replace it. You might also find it is cheaper to buy a whole new DVD player than it is to buy a replacement battery.

Cannot power on to take photos

I found that one has to use their batteries of at least 2100mAh and NI-MH. I recharged my batteries removed the new ordinary alkaline batteries I had put in and BINGO IT WORKED. Just to prove the point I put in another set of Alkaline batteries No good. It must be that NI-MH Batteries rated at 2100mAH have more power (or one can draw more currentat start up) a battery guru could maybe veryify my conclusions. Anyhow try NI-MH batteries and see how you go. Best of luck fredlich
