STATIC BACKGROUND NOISE

The time is the clue static in the background is electrical interference this can be caused by faulty electrical appliances UHF ham and CB Radios etc ask neighbours if and when they suffer this interference this will help to locate and identify the cause ie the closer you get the worse it'll be
Once you identify the source the culprit may decide to fix the appliance desist from operation or you can buy filters to eliminate the cause of static noise once you know the cause

I have a Static noise coming from the right channel of my mixer. I hear it coming out the right speaker as well as the right ear of my headphones (jack). How can I fix this?

That sounds like a bad connection but it can also indicate your mixer has a problem. If it occurs on all channels it is the mixer, if only one then the problem is in the input. Check your cables, they are a big culprut in problems like this.

On more than one occasion my x2442usb, makes a loud static like sound coming from no apparent individual channel but its just there. is this a flaw in the mixer should i send it back?

First, make sure ALL interconnected equipment is POWERED from the same receptacle.

Second, if the sound is routed through your computer via USB, make sure ALL background programs like wireless internet connection, anti-virus, anti-spyware, popup blockers are DISABLED.

These system hogging programs can interrupt the flow of the sound data causing static like noise.

Also use balanced lines for ALL audio interconnects... eithe XLR or TRS cables.

Excessive noise in my speakers

usually, it is background noise. Scratchy background noise. Gets worse the louder I turn up the volume. I ran a test on all the channels and it seemed to be the subwoofer channel. I've unpluged the subwoofer but that didn't help. I have also noticed that my receiver doesn't turn up nearly as loud as it used. I usually watch DVDs at a volume level of about 15 on my Denon and that's quite loud. But now, 15 isn't that loud at all. I went to Best Buy where I bought all of this equipment and they immediatly told me it was suge protector issue and wanted to sell me a high-end surge protector. Perhaps they are right but not sure why it began rather suddenly. Probably not helping you much.

User hears faint static while on a call. It's not load enough to make it hard to hear the caller, but a noticable crackling/static noise can be heard in the background. happens on every call.

Cell phones transmit the sound as digital data. The data when converted back to analog to listen too CAN have "digitizing noise" which will sound like static.

WORSENING the problem is if there is noise in the background of the person sending the voice and the worst possiblle is to have MUSIC in the background. These both drive the CODEC (the analog conversion system) crazy and will create what you describe. The CODEC is designed to transmit ONLY voice.

No sound

you need to check the sound ic in that audio section. check how much voltage you are getting on the legs of that ic. you need at least three voltages. about 32 volts. if you are getting that then replace the ic righ away. if you are not getting it, then you need to check around that ic to find out what is keeping the voltage from reaching that ic. good luck
