My problem is that I turn on the tv and the sound will come on but there is no picture, it is black, the menu doesnt even show. You can hear all of the functions working and channels changing. When it started it would turn off by itself, some time when it happen I used to turn it on it would be black, Id wait then turn it off and on again and the picture would come on but now, nothing, If I turn it off the tv will click and not come on at all you can hear it try to come on but it will click click off. I am not a tech but can I fix the problem myself?
First check for a faulty capacitor on the power supply board as it sounds like that could be the first place to start. Before you touch any capacitors PLEASE find articles on the internet concerning discharging them as one stray discharge incorrectly could not only destry your tv but hurt you or even KILL!!! Ignore any articles that tell you to use a screwdriver. Good luck.
